The Space:
The Forest Fortress is in the west wing of a beautiful Victorian mansion. This listing has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a massive living room with a sleeper sofa and comfortable kitchen with walk out access to the courtyard.
We are continually updating the house so the pictures may not reflect the latest status of the home!
1 of the bedrooms is a king rooms, the other is a queen room, and a sleeper sofa! 2 bathrooms with bath tubs, one of which has a jacuzzi.
You have your own privacy indoors and a shared courtyard (including hot tub) with the group renting out the East Wing. Additionally, the owner sometimes stays in the adjoining unit, or the carriage house, which shares the courtyard space.

The location of Cloud City Castle is one of the main reasons we chose to manage it - it's amazing! The house has a shared courtyard (with the East Wing) with a hot tub and plenty of indoor space!

Even though I have it titled as quirky this place is amazing. Spacious kitchen, plenty of room in the dinning area, bedrooms are great. Hot tub did not disappoint after hiking Mt Evans and Mt Elbert. Easy walking distance to downtown. Moe’s bbq is one block down one block over. Highly recommend. The train ride is only one block up. Also recommend. Only suggestion would be to add a bbq outdoors. You truly need to visit this place to understand the quirky part
This was our first time staying at this lovely home, and hopefully will not be our last! We were in town for the high school mountain bike races. The home is walking distance (two blocks) to main street / restaurants / Melanzana, but apart enough to be quiet, especially at night. The rooms were large and comfortable, and there are two lofts. Better yet, we enjoyed the large kitchen, group table, and hot tub. I don't imagine that there is a better place in town to stay.
Location of this place was fantastic. We loved the hot tub and enjoyed walking to a local pizza shop near the house!
This property is lovely ! So comfortable and 2 blocks from charming and historic downtown Leadville. We had just finished a major backpacking trip and desperately needed a comfortable place to recover. This was it! Many amenities included in kitchen and bath were very much appreciated. Make sure to explore Leadville and the excellent food. Thank you for having us.
What a wonderful property. Top marks!!
The property was located very conveniently to downtown Leadville. It was well-appointed and very cute. I would recommend to anyone wanting to experience a relaxing Leadville getaway!
Stayed with a couple for one night and had a good experience overall. The only downside we had is that the listing is somewhat deceiving as it shows bedrooms and bathrooms from the east side in the west sides online listing. Additionally, there was no signage letting us know where the east stopped or the west began, so we did have an encounter where the other group walked into outside of the rental, but we were able to straighten it out. Once the listing is corrected online I would recommend this to anyone thinking about staying here.
Excellent location, nice hot tub.
Honestly can't wait to stay here again! Charming, perfect Leadville home
Loved our stay! The place was perfect! Comfy beds, great kitchen, dog friendly, nice fenced in back yard, hot tubbing in the winter was lovely and loved being within walking distance of downtown Leadville. Would definitely stay here again.
