Lofty relaxations continue into the meditation/yoga space next to the TreeHouse room. An infrared sauna can be added to this space upon request. Joining these two bedrooms is an open space to run on a treadmill or relax garden/twin lounger. Perfect kickback area for gamers with a flat-screen TV.
We invite inquiries to book sessions in Anahata Rising's recording studio (home to jam band Franklin's Kite.) The studio is located in a converted tobacco barn where the owners, Dave, GretaLee, "Wonder dog" Mocha & kitty Izzy reside. This is out of sight of the Birdsong GH ensuring your privacy.
We offer guest services in hiring or recommending musicians, sound techniques, photographers, healers, artists, and chefs. My partner and I booked this property for our elopement ceremony with our parents. The location was beautiful, and the house had everything we could’ve possibly asked for. The hosts were amazing and super communicative the entire time, and allowed our event to happen on their property. The house was super clean on check-in, had tons of sleeping space, including four bedrooms and additional sleeping space. The house is a little noisy with lots of people, but nothing that detracted from the stay. Comfy, beautiful, and clean. If I had to list the con of the property: only one shower isn’t ideal (there’s a second bathroom with a massive tub and hand held shower sprayer but very low ceilings in that bathroom and the tub made it unusable for our parents). However, we made it work and the property was good enough to make up for it. The check out process was also super simple. No massive check list like many Vrbos these days.
A large contingent of family and friends met to celebrate new twins. The house was amazing! Everyone, all ages loved it. It is a bit remote but only 15 minutes from a grocery store and GPS takes you right to the property as well as the owner’s directions. The owners were wonderful and very responsive to our questions. We would definitely recommend this place to large groups!
My daughter was turning 30 and we wanted to make it memorable. She decided she wanted to spend it in the mountains and we found this lovely place. The owners were kind, accommodating, and responsive. They even left a welcome basket with birthday candles and s'mores fixings. We enjoyed our stay so much we are planning our next trip!
We came to have a family vacation after not having one for 5 years. All my kids are now adults and they came with partners and dogs. The house so perfect, with so many places for everyone to hang out. I think we used every room and all 6 adults and dogs enjoyed Birdsong. Owners are really easy to communicate with and very responsive.
The house was amazing!! We all loved it. My family got together for the first time in 12 years, and we filed every bed!! The views were incredible. We all loved watching the birds in the feeders, and my cat was absolutely fascinated with watching them!! I would love to come back in the summer
We had a wonderful time at Birdsong! It was so nice that the house accommodated our whole family, including a crop of kiddos. Birdsong had absolutely everything we needed for a smooth stay. We were able to play in the snow and walk the beautiful valley and ridge line where Birdsong sits. Would definitely recommend this spot!!
Very nice place. Lots of Rhododendrons. Convenient to Ashville . A unique location in the Mountains.
The host was extremely hospitable and kind. Gave me a run down of the property the day prior and was extremely generous. Did not mind the music and even provided eggs for the following morning from their own chickens! Would stay here again, 11/10
This place was amazing and clearly well cared for. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with many details we don’t normally find such as sharp knives and excellent pots. Owner was wonderful and responsive. shower delish; lots of magazines and books to read throughout; lovely bird feeder and we delighted at watching the variety feed. So many stars !
Our book club does something every October to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed at this house for our 5 year celebration. The accommodations were great for us. The home was very nice and we truly enjoyed our stay. The only drawback is that we didn't stay longer! We will definitely return.
This home is beautiful to look at as well as ecologically responsible in every way. From the eggs provided to us from the owner's chickens, to the solar-powered and heated home, to the whimsical decorations throughout the house, it was a bit of paradise on earth! Owner Dave graciously gave us a tour of the features of the home and explained how he has achieved a zero-carbon footprint with the home. We enjoyed our time inside as well as marveling at nature from the deck and the fire pit. The kitchen was the better stocked than any other vacation home we've been in, with a variety of cookware, as well as a vast array of spices, teas, and other nonperishable items. And my teenagers will report that the sound system was out of this world!
Our family had a very nice stay at Birdsong. We particularly enjoyed the beautifully handcrafted interior finishes and all the helpful amenities and supplies that were included in the rental. It was a pleasure to meet GretaLee and Dave, to experience their solar house, and be surrounded by the sights and sounds of the woods. They were kind to share eggs and produce from their own hens/garden, and were very responsive when a repair needed to be made at the house. The unpaved driveway is easy to navigate up to the house in a regular vehicle, which is completely secluded. We would return!
Beautiful home and property
We had a great visit. We wanted to take the dogs to a secluded are to get away from fireworks. The property is very private, so we were very satisfied. The property owners were very attentive when we reached out to them.
