La Pointe, Wisconsin
Feeling Superior is nestled on the north shore of Madeline Island. The two-bedroom, one-bathroom home also has a guest room that can accommodate two people (guest room is in a separate building just off the side of the home). Feeling Superior has been thoughtfully updated. The kitchen is open to the dining and living area and the wood-burning stove in the living room makes the entire home feel cozy.
During spring, summer and fall you can enjoy a large screened-in porch space and listen to the sounds of the Lake Superior waves and the abundant bird and wildlife that call this magical setting home. There is a walk-way to the lake. You are able to get down to the shore (there is no dock) to look for driftwood and other treasures that are known to wash ashore in some of Lake Superior’s legendary storms.
The area offers everything from hiking at Big Bay Town Park about 3 miles from Feeling Superior. You are about 20 minutes from downtown La Pointe with our wonderful Historical Museum, locally-owned shops, restaurants and Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed Golf Course.

The view and the weather were wonderful. The cabin 25 minutes from the ferry landing. It is set way back from the dirt/gravel road, so very quiet and private. Bring plenty of bug spray or you won’t be spending anytime outside. The beds and bathroom were basic but seemed clean. The kitchen cabinet interiors were not very clean and there wasn’t one coffee cup that wasn’t stained. Glad I had my travel mug with me. New coffee cups, cutlery and skillets would make a big difference. There were a few spiders but that’s to be expected in any cabin deep in the woods. One of our party spilled some water on the sofa. When we pulled the cushions off to wipe it up, we discovered the sofa is full, and I mean full! of dog hair. Overall, at first glance it seemed clean but the longer we were there, the more we could see that the corners were dirty and the closets were not clean at all. The separate little guest house looks cute but the musty smell is overpowering. Glad we weren’t planning to use it. One last note, proceed at your own risk taking the steps down to the lake. Very narrow, steep and not sturdy.
