The Farmhouse is an adorable gem! Low key, laid back and well-appointed, this is the perfect place to return to after visiting wineries and trekking through gorges. Sleeps up to 6 people comfortably with plenty of room to eat, relax and play! This property features an orchard and beautiful gardens plus you can walk through the adjacent nature preserve to waterfalls!!!
This is a super sweet home that I've put a lot of love into--it was built in the late 1800's (the first on this hill) andbefore my parents purchased the land in the 1970s a family of fiddle-playin' potato farmers lived here. My sister and I grew up on this land riding horses and climbing through the gorge out back. Now I'm happy to offer it as a home-away-from home to you!! There's plenty of room in the kitchen for folks to work together to make meals or drink wine at the island counter and let your darling chef make it all happen. There are games and art supplies in the dining room cabinet and room to lounge in the living room. The east bedroom has a queen sized bed, the west bedroom has a full size bed. There's a home office area in the west bedroom too--a large desk and comfortable office chair. With fast and reliable wireless internet the Farmhouse Gem makes an excellent work-at-vacation-home location. The living room sofa opens up plus the futon chair converts to a twin bed. The laundry room is a sweet perk so you can get clean after hanging out at Treman State Park or playing in the Anarchy Zone at the Ithaca Children's Garden. And speaking of getting clean--the bathroom has a tub and shower.
The Farmhouse is completely yours to enjoy! There's also a private front and back patio. My family home at two other vacation rentals (a yurt and a octagonal tiny home) are also on this property but you'll have to come up the driveway to be in these shared spaces. You're very welcome to walk through the wildflower field (you'll see the octagon) to get to the nature preserve and waterfalls.
The Farmhouse is deeply cleaned and thoroughly sanitized 24 hours before check in. During the Covid-19 pandemic the garden and hen house are off-limits but there's plenty of room to enjoy the wildflower field and nature preserve while maintaining distancing requirements.

Very unique property to enjoy outdoors from the garden and gold fish ponds to chickens and deer to garden paths and wooded paths. Very dog friendly!

Michelle is welcoming and quick to respond. No issues or concerns. Was close enough to enjoy Our daughter's family weekend at Cornell and local shopping/restaurants. Farm land was walkable and we could imagine how beautiful it is when the wildflowers would be blooming. We were also able to take some great senior high school pictures for my son.

What a charming and unique cottage! It is an old farmhouse with a lot of charm. Michelle was an attentive host, too. I did not realize that there were 2 other units where other family or friends could stay. We loved it!

The host was very nice. Their house is right next to the farmhouse but still felt very private. We locked ourselves out of the house and the host's son ran over quickly with their spare key. We didn't have to wait at all to get back in. Also, loved getting fresh eggs and picking ripe pears every morning.

A wonderful stay at the farmhouse for our son’s college graduation family trip. Plenty of room for us five, kitchen has everything you need including and just a beautiful location! The drive to and from Ithaca was easy and quick, and communication with the host was excellent! Thank you for a great stay!

The cottage was horrible! The property was old, rundown and overgrown. The cottage was dark, dingy and dirty. Bathroom was disgusting and very dirty. The floors in the entire were very uneven - you felt like you were drunk walking across them. As Farr as chicken eggs we were told a raccoons ate the chickens. We booked for 3 nights but only stayed one night. Do not stay here!

We are very pleased with our rental during our stay. The property was as expected, if not better than we expected. Our dogs were very comfortable, as were we. The property itself is beautiful and was fun to explore. We would definitely stay again, or consider staying at another one of the host’s properties.

Overall, very clean, comfortable property. Remote, which we liked. Up a steep hill to get to the property, my wife had trouble walking to and from the car, we’re in our 70s so it may not be an issue for everyone. Cable TV and internet was nice, a lot of rentals do not provide cable tv. Only one criticism is that we always bring condiments, paper towels and toilet paper because the typical VRBO provides these items but these items tend to be low quality, this was no exception, and dishes and cooking pots and pans tend to be leftovers mismatches which, while very functional, gives the feel of a camping trip. Solid place to stay and we enjoyed our time there. I would choose to stay again, my wife would not as it was a little too rustic for her. Very solid choice as a place to stay.

No information was received indicating how to access the property, no address visible from the street, not clear where to park, no air conditioning (it was very hot when we arrived), house had a musty smell.

The property was a great home away from home for our family. We loved the central location and easy access to surrounding attractions. Property was clean and had a great style. Our three year old loved the chickens, swing set and nature that surrounded us. Would love to come back for another stay if we return to Ithaca.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. The farmhouse had everything we needed to be comfortable. Loved that the property was on a nature preserve we could walk to with the dog! Michelle was a great communicator.
