In the mornings, watch hawks across the open space back field while sipping coffee on back-deck porch swing. In the evenings, ride the provided bikes (with helmets) one mile along the bike trail to events in downtown Louisville, CNN Money's #1 Place to Live in the United States. Saturday is the farmers' market, Thursday is free outdoor concerts, Wednesdays are open-air movies!
Great restaurants, microbreweries, and wine bars within 5 miles. Single-track trails are out the backyard gate and hiking, climbing, fishing, stand-up paddle-boarding, and tubing (yes, this is a real thing...) are all within 30 mins.
Kitchen has maple cabinets with granite counter tops, gas range and is open to living/dining room - all with beautiful hardwood floors. One bedroom with queen bed and large bookshelf full of guidebooks, kids books and games for your use. Sliding glass door opens onto huge backyard deck with gas barbecue. Second bedroom with high-quality mattresses on bunk beds and the option for an air mattress on the floor. TV room with fast internet and entertainment system has IKEA couch that pulls out into a queen-sized bed an a Peleton bike for your use. One full bathroom with bathtub/shower and a hallway half bathroom. Laundry room with Samsung, front-load washer/dryer.
SUPER kid-friendly house on a sleepy street, vegetable garden (welcome to eat but no maintenance required), and the bike trail passing the back fence winds 150 yards to a quaint little neighborhood park. Pick wild currants for morning pancakes!
We are dog-friendly, with a fully fenced backyard and laundry room dog door, but no cats please (I'm super allergic!). My husband and I are both on the academic calendar, and so we rent our house while traveling in the summer.
Loved that we could bring our 4 dogs and that there was a doggie door and fenced yard. Also appreciated there was no carpeting, since it rained one day and the back yard got muddy. We spent a lot of time on the back deck. The sleeping arrangements were less than ideal for us. A full bed in the master and this room did not have an air conditioner like the room with the bunk beds or the room with the TV. (We could not sleep with the windows open due to allergies). The house seems to need some basic maintenance, one light switch has a short in it, there was a hole in the bathroom wall, from the doorknob, light bulbs out, the faucet handle in the shower fell off, paint peeled in the other bathroom, etc. I felt like I should have had an inspection checklist upon check-in as I didn't want to get blamed for these things. This was our first time renting, so I wanted to be extra careful, especially since there is a large damage deposit. None of this affected our stay, but it is worth noting. Kristi was very responsive to our questions. The wire fence in the back yard caused us some problems with our dogs as they wanted to run and bark as people passed by on the walking/biking path, since they could see everyone and everything....which in turn made one of the neighbors unhappy. All in all, while we probably would not stay here again, it wasn't due to anything the host did or didn't do. The listing is as described and it was really just our situation with our dogs and the proximity to everyone using the path.
We enjoyed our stay - the chickens, climbing wall, and toys thrilled my daughter. The sunsets on the patio and the proximity to Louisville, Boulder, Golden, Mt. Evans, and hiking trails delighted us.
This was a very nice vacation rental. Loved the bike trail and even got some great wild life sightings in the fields behind the house. Very convenient to Boulder, but far enough away that it felt quiet and homey. Kristi was great to work with- I would definitely return!
Wow. What a great comfortable home! I absolutely loved the great views from the back deck - morning tea watching for wildlife was a daily favorite. It's also close to downtown Louisville which is a quaint small western town with some great restaurant options, an independent book store and great toy store. Also super close to Boulder so if you want to check out the Pearl Street scene you can be there in just a few minutes. House was immaculate, everything I was expecting and more!
