Cannon Beach, Oregon
This spacious home located in lower Ecola Park, is ideal for family reunions, gathering of friends, and large groups. There are 3 sizable sleeping areas, 3 bathrooms; one with a Jacuzzi tub, and two large living rooms. There is a washer/dryer. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and small wares. A breakfast nook looks out to the forest and there's a large table in the dining room . There are 2 flat screen TVs, Dish TV, Internet, and a piano. The upstairs TV us for VHS video viewing. We have an extensive library of family oriented VHS videos. The back offers views of the coastal forest.
The location is an easy walk to the charming town of Cannon Beach with ample shops, restaurants, and breath taking beaches.
The house is functional but stuck in the 80's. First of all there re 2 showers. My guess is the shower heads are original and they do not work very well anymore. If you like water just pouring out on you, then these would be great for you, but spending $20 on new shower heads would be nice. We stayed for thanksgiving and had planned on cooking food at the house. As we were preparing our meal we realized that the oven did not work properly. It seems that the lower element is out and one of the burners on the stove does not work. Not sure if the property owners know this, but the range needs to be replaced. Rooms are set up kinda of random and the furniture is old. I think this home is overpriced for what you get
Second time staying here. Great house for the price. Walk to town walk to beach. Quit ,good neighborhood. Owners are very nice people ?
We enjoyed our stay. The home has a lot of bedrooms and couches for lounging. There are lots of games to play. The kitchen had everything we needed to make dinners, desserts, etc. The location was great and was a short walk to the beach and to downtown. We saw elk almost everyday. My only recommendation would be a deep clean through the entire house.
Our family had a wonderful stay! Joe and Jan were wonderful from start to finish. Quick to respond and always kind. The home was very nice. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for my mother who is in a wheelchair. Plenty of room and very open. It is close to the beach and a short drive up the road to Ecola State Park. Cannon Beach is wonderful with many decent restaurants and shops in the area. The neighbors on both sides of the home were also very kind and considerate. We would definitely return to this wonderful rental.
Overall, the property is fine--quiet, nice neighbors. It is close to a mile walk to get to the middle of town. The final lonnng block is an uphill climb to the beach. A little dangerous (no sidewalk in front of the property) to get to the side street that will get you to the beach--cars are driving way too fast on the road. A lot of games to play, plenty of sofas, table seating and comfortable for large groups. Enough beds for 10 people as advertised and it is very pet-friendly. As previously mentioned, the property could use a little maintenance and a deep cleaning. The downstairs bedroom is a converted garage--very comfortable and well-insulated (though we were there over the 4th of July so do not know about the fall/winter months). The daily fee reflects the location and condition of the property. Owners very responsive to questions and inquiries.
First i want to say i loved the location, the size of the house, and the owners. After our stay, i spoke to the owners and explained the conditions we found. Wanting to leave a clear review. It is always important to me not to tear down but the house was not clean and needed fresh update. They made me feel comfortable that thing would be much improved. Nothing a fresh coat of paint and some updating of old wall hanging and musty carpets ect will make this home a place everyone will want to stay in again and again!
This property was awesome--very homey, lots of room for everyone, plenty of bathrooms, nice kitchen...It was quiet and out of the chaos of downtown Cannon Beach. We saw elk walk by on the road, and the bird song in the forest was lovely. It's just a block or two from the estuary and Les Shirley park, so beach access was nearby. The owners were super--really nice and available for questions. Will definitely consider staying here again.
GOOD JOD, GOOD TIME. ITS BETTER THAN IT WAS ADVERTISED.
This is a great spot in Cannon Beach at a reasonable price. You are able to walk to Ecola State Park in about 30-45 minutes which is a huge bonus. The beach at Les Shirley park is a short 5 minute walk and you can make it to downtown Cannon Beach in about 10 minutes. The house was as described and was loaded with fun board games that we really enjoyed. If we ever head back to Cannon Beach we will definitely stay here again. On a final note I will say that the house does need a good deep cleaning. The surface level areas are all clean but some of the lesser traveled areas need a good cleaning. Overall, great stay.
Very nice, clean, large house as advertised. Great location. Very kind and communicative hosts. Would happily stay again.
This is a delightful home, near enough to walk to the beach, short jaunt into town, quiet and comfortable.
What a fabulous place to relax, family time and enjoy a wonderful weekend at the beach. The home was clean, well stocked and very convenient to town. The owners are so sweet - thought of everything!
This home is perfect for a somewhat large group. We have now stayed there 3 times. The location is great, there is lots of space, and it feels very welcoming and comfortable. Jan and Joe are top notch hosts, and very kind people. Highly recommend!
Very clean, more than enough room and close to town
This home is incredibly spacious and very quiet, yet conveniently located close to the town of Cannon Beach. Beds are comfortable, and having 3 bathrooms was really a bonus. We enjoyed the variety of family games as well as ability to watch movies at night. Owners were very responsive to our needs. We could not have asked for a nicer place to spend our vacation!
We rented a year out to be sure of a fireworks free 4th for our dogs. But we needed a fun place for our grandkids and we all love the beach. It took awhile but we found the beach at the egress of the river right at the end of our street. The weather was great and we loved our hideaway in the trees. Joseph and Jan were so helpful. Thank you
The house was just what we needed for our vacation. The woods were excellent, and the beach was not far away. Overall great experience.
Close to Town, close to Ecola, but still far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town.
Excellent place for a mixed ages
