South Fork, Colorado
Pita's Cabin is a fantastic family getaway that provides a relaxing experience at home and outdoor adventure in all different directions. Enjoy the daily movement of wildlife, a spectacular view of the mountains while being centrally located to incredible amounts of outdoor activity. Take a peaceful walk around the neighborhood and make sure to stop off at the boat launch to watch the deer crossing, dip in the river or cast your line in. During the summer months enjoy ATV riding, hiking or even an over nite camping trip in the meadows. Make sure to check the horse riding programs and state park touring! During the winter months enjoy skiing, slow mobiles, snow tubing or just making snow angels in the yard. Definitely check out the South Fork visitor's center to get the full menu of almost endless activities per season. Make sure to visit the neighboring historical points such as Creed and Silverton, and if you are looking for some serious spa treatments head over to Pagosa Springs! Check out the guided hunting for some of the biggest game around. We have amazing mule deer, elk and moose and Colorado has a great hunting guide with rates and fees clearly listed. Rat Creek is one of my most favorite 4 wheeler ride with stunning views of the Continental Divide, unimaginable scenery and amazing sightings of smaller animals, deer and I have even seen a momma moose and her baby. If you're into a spooky adventure head on over to Platora and experience a little cafe with great food and if you fall in love with it, it's up for sale!
Enjoyed the cabin close to town
We had a great time staying there, very cozy and accommodating home!!
We love this cabin! Our family stays here year after year for our annual Christmas skiing trip. We spend our days on the mountain and our evenings enjoying the coziness of this simple, yet perfect cabin. The cabin is clean, well stocked and the beds are comfy. The owner is great to communicate and help out as needed during the stay.
We enjoyed our stay. Place was wonderful and extremely clean. Hosted was so helpful and answered all of our questions.
We were in town for a wedding. Was a perfect place for our needs. Lots of space and comforts of him. Thank you!
There were air conditioners in 2 of the bedrooms. The furniture was a little old, but very adequate. Nice front porch area.
This is an older rustic house in a quiet neighborhood. It is within walking distance to the river and to Revolution Rail Co. (I highly recommend the pedals to paddles tour). Plenty of sunshine streaming through the windows makes this a great place for early risers. Watching the hummingbirds on the front porch is the best place to be on a hot summer evening. We had everything we needed to have a fun time!
