This is a great location ... not far from the ski slopes, and on a very cool lake. Obviously at this time of the year, we did not get use of the water toys, or the frozen lake. Rather, since this was a family vacation which included grandparents down to a 14 month old, we spent a lot of time simply enjoying one another ... playing games that we had taken with us, nice dinners around the very adequate kitchen table, waking daily to the smell of bacon, eggs, sausage and/or pancakes! We did take out dinner on New Years Eve from The Jubiliee which was absolutely delicious and very reasonable. And amazingly, the TV was never even turned on!! But know in advance that this home needs some love. Upon arrival we made the property management company aware of the living room furniture that is on its last leg to the point that we feared breaking the recliners and falling through the sleep sofa. Curtain rods fell off the windows (which we just left down), the wood veneer on the downstairs door is coming off to the point that it hindered opening and shutting the door. With our first load of laundry, the tub filled about and was about to overflow; fortunately the repair man was their replacing all the burnt out exterior lightbulbs and checking out the living room swivel/recliners. Fortunately it was just a sock (from previous guests) that had clogged the drain. We had found the matching sock tucked inside one of the recliners which we ultimately just through into the fireplace that we so enjoyed during our stay. Firewood is not provided, so my husband overbought and had a 1/2 cord delivered. The next guests will have a lot of firewood to enjoy, as the fireplace is a major highlight of this home! The home is well equipped with everything you might need in the kitchen, and it was nice that sheets and towels were provided. Our teenagers really enjoyed the game room on the first floor -- it has a really comfy sectional sofa (the most comfy seating in the house), an electric fireplace, and full bath. The foosball table was enjoyed, but the air hockey table in the garage was not usable and is just another item that needs attention as it is too wobbly/unstable to safely use. There are plenty of books, and also games. However, most of the games are in disrepair, missing pieces, etc., so if you have little ones I'd recommend bringing your own.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay here over a short weekend looking for a quite retreat for our family of four. The house is very spacious and warm and cozy at the same time. The kids absolutely loved boating in the pond nearby. Kayaks, pedal boats, oars and life jackets for both kids and adults are all provided with the rental. Kids had a riot playing foosball, and loved curling up in front of the fireplace and watching a movie. Perfect for our little vacation!
House and location were wonderful! Peaceful setting. Although we didn't spend any time on the lake - it was beautiful! I booked this for my grown children and my grandchildren and it was plenty large enough for all to have our own space, when needed. We would definitely stay here again!
The perfect mini vaca before the kids went back to school! Will definitely rent again!
This property was exactly what we needed and perfect for our family! Spacious, comfortable, and the lake was absolutely wonderful and my kids loved using the kayaks and paddle boats that came with the rental. We were very satisfied!
My family of 6 and I stayed here for a week in July. The house is beautiful and had more than enough space to accommodate us. We were visiting family in the area and everyone really enjoyed coming to visit us at the lake house. We especially enjoyed fishing at the lake, all of my kids caught fish throughout the week and they were so excited. We loved the use of the kayaks and boat. The little lake is pretty murky but my adventurous bunch had a blast swimming in it regardless. The house included just about everything we could have needed. We flew in from Utah, and I didn't know until the last minute that the house didn't include linens. This was likely an oversight on my behalf but I was able to find a linen rental company to take care of it quickly. The location is lovely, tucked away but still close enough to farmers' markets and major shopping. The only negative I can report on is the lack of air conditioning. This wasn't a huge issue, but it did get pretty toasty in there in the mid day. We'd happily stay here again. Thanks so much!
Comfortable house, nice to have the pond basically in the backyard - the 2 kayaks and pedal boat were put to good use. Grill was in working order but ran out of gas. Easy to locate the property with gps and easy to access with the code. We weren't sure if blankets were included since the instructions said that we should bring all linens. As it turned out, there were comforters on each bed - but we were happy we brought our own since they looked a little aged. Screen porch hadn't been swept or vacuumed in some time, but otherwise property was clean and well appointed with kitchen supplies and even basic spices. We had fun with the giant badminton set found in the garage. Sadly we can't hold the owner responsible for our young adult son dropping his phone in the pond. :) The pond is pretty shallow for swimming - your feet touch the mucky bottom (maybe about 5-6 feet deep in the middle), would recommend bringing inflatable rafts or floats if you want to really get wet. We used the life jackets as flotation devices to lounge on in the water! But there is a sandy beach area a short drive (5 mins) away in the community which had a nice bottom surface and was good for swimming. Was a nice hub for a weekend away. Owner was very responsive to communication. Found some lovely gravel roads in the nearby state game lands for some great bike riding too!
There were 8 of us and the space worked out perfectly. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend it. It was great to have the 'extras' like the paddle boat and kayaks (with life vests!), games and laundry room on site. Sean was great about responding to our questions quickly and he provided very thorough information. We gave a 4 star rating on cleanliness, only because there was some leftover food in the freezer and refrigerator when we got there. (Just condiments and ice cream etc...but still icky to find). Outside front porch area could use a new astroturf. Again, not a big deal, but does make the place look less than desirable. One of the bathroom doors stick...but once you realized you aren't locked in and learn 'the trick' with the knob, it is not a big deal. The temperature was fine during our stay, and the fans in each room did the job to keep us comfortable, but I'd be concerned about not having air during hotter weather. It is clear that this is a family home that has been a 'Lake Escape' for many! Thank you for letting us use it for our escape!
My friends and I had a great weekend at Sean's property on Long Pond. We were able to swim and paddle around in the lake and eat meals on the back patio. The house feels spacious and has the essentials. Just to clarify (since I wasn't sure!) duvets and pillows are provided along with a couple of dishtowels but you'll want to bring sheets, pillow cases and any sort of towels you might need for your stay. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!
This is a great place to get away from it all. Very peaceful. Lake is beautiful, private and small enough that there’s not a lot of traffic so it’s quiet. There’s a wonderful man-made beach on a lake about a 5 min walk from the house that is perfect for small children and families.
