Family Home close to Downtown & Beach!

The perfect family vacation home! So many items for young kids and walking distance to a park and downtown. We have stayed here 3 years in a row and can’t bring ourselves to stay anywhere else!

The home offered a variety of gathering options that worked well for a large family. Gave room to breathe without feeling crowded. The home offered a nice back yard patio option as an extension of the home. The host provided many beach items. So, save the hassle and just use the options provided by the host.

Check in was easy. The rooms were perfect for a couple with a 5 month old, a couple with a 3 year old and my husband and I. Loved that we could walk so many places. House was clean and very comfortable!

We really enjoyed our 3 generation family vacation at the home. It is a great home in a beautiful neighborhood. It was a nice walk to the downtown and closer than I expected to everything. We would for sure stay here again.

We had a wonderful vacation in South Haven Michigan. Our stay at Grandpa Dick’s was one that we will never forget.We have a family of nine; 6 adults, 3 children (2,5,11). The house was amazing as it had different spaces to be able to spread out. The kids could play while the adults could rest. The first level bedroom worked well for the grandparents, and the bunk beds were a hit with kids. The owners have thought of everything that a family might need online no a vacation house. Crib for little ones, kitchen fully equipped with all kinds of cooking items, excellent appliances, comfortable furniture, 3 tvs, outside seating & large patio/table. The town is walkable from the house, and we rented golf carts to cruise around in. Just minutes from North Beach, and the owners have a stock of beach equipment for guests to use.We have rented vacation homes for many years, and Grandpa Dick’s is our favorite. We will be back!.

This was a perfect place for our adult married children and grandbaby. Each couple had their own bathroom which was great. It was a short walk to downtown South Haven, the beach and the Kal-Haven trail. We would go back!

We had 6 adults and 2 kids very comfortably in this house for a week. Shelby is a wonderful host - the house was clean and well-equipped for beach days and kids toys/books! We walked everywhere in town throughout the week - it was a bit too far of a walk to the beach with all our stuff but there’s plenty of parking at the beach so it was no big deal. Would recommend!

This was my third stay at Grandpa Dick's, and this is my favorite place to stay in South Haven! Consistently clean and well-kept. Perfect location! Close to town and the beach while being in a quiet neighborhood. The floor plan and bedroom to bathroom ratio make it perfect for any group. 10 out of 10.

Had a great week with family! House was super clean and had everything we needed and then some!! From all of the baby gear to the beach gear to the great fire pit and grill…all was fantastic! Great location! Very short walk to downtown and then onto the pier. Would definitely stay again! Go to SoHo and stay at this fantastic property!!

Shelby’s house is the perfect spot for a family vacationing in South Haven. The fenced-in backyard was perfect for our little ones. The kitchen was very well stocked with appliances, cooking supplies, plenty of dishes. Lots of outdoor toys and all the beach equipment you could need. The house is lovely and well taken care of. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to stay at the house again.

Our week at Grandpa Dick’s was great. The home is just as described. There was plenty of room for the four of us (parents with two young-adult children) with space to spare. Everything we needed was supplied. The walk to town was easy - 25 minutes to the furthest end of the pier. The host was very responsive to our inquiries regarding things to do in the area.

House was perfect for our family stay for eight...Grandma, Grandpa, two sons, one DIL and three grandchildren 8, 6 and 3. Lots of items for the beach, items to play with in the yard, board games, etc. Kitchen was extremely well stocked as well. Packard Beach, which we chose, was walkable for the 8 and 6 year old, though they chose to ride in the van one way or both at times. Downtown an easy walk as well as to the Maritime Museum. Shelby was responsive and quick to answer any questions.

We are a group of six women and this house worked perfectly for us but it would also be great for any large group or multigenerational family. Lots of bedrooms and baths and a large open kitchen next to the family room. Lots of additional space including outdoor areas. The owner was wonderful to work with and everything went very smoothly.

Excellent home- so welcoming. Owner has everything you could possibly need for a relaxed stay. Lots of open space, beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Fenced in backyard is perfect for kids. Nice park within walking distance. Everything was updated. Quiet neighborhood. It was alittle far to walk to beach, but we rented a golf cart which was both fun and made trips to the beach easy. Owner was very easy to communicate with, quickly answered my messages. We loved our stay and would highly recommend this property.
