Family-Friendly Houghton Lake House: Steps to Lake

The home was very spacious, perfect for our family. Plenty of room and the kitchen was well stocked. The only complaint was the grill did not work and SO many burned out lightbulbs, the upstairs family room area is dark because there is only 1 small lamp. The ceiling fan and lights do not work in the second floor. Will definitely go back, our kids requested it for next Labor Day as well!

Nice property. Needed to replace mattress in one of the upper floor bedrooms. Had to go and buy blowup.Kitchen was supplied with ample supplies for cooking needs.Communication was not greatest. Had a boat trailer on grass as no one contacted us as what rule was and had to move. Said owners drove by and didn’t want it there. Put that in your listing so those that do bring boats know ahead of time.Beautiful view from house, nice sandy area out front. Had a great vacation with family.

The house was a perfect location on Houghton Lake, with easy lake access for kids and water games and easy dock use for fishing and enjoying morning coffee! House was spacious for all 12 of our guests with great family room space to all hang out together, open kitchen for meal times, and porch/deck and yard space for outside fun too! Make sure to bring extra paper products (plates, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper and Kleenex) as well as extra towels for showering, and hand towels for bathroom and kitchen. Communication was prompt and check in/check out process was easy and smooth.

Enjoyed a beautiful week on Houghton lake with the family. Enjoyed the spacious and nice accommodations. The sunsets were fabulous.

Our group loved the 5 large bedrooms and roomy open plan living space on the main floor. The kitchen was well equipped. The lake was beautiful. The dock and lift worked well for our pontoon boat. The kids loved the shallow sandy bottomed swimming right behind the house. The neighborhood was great: well kept, friendly, and not crowded. The exterior deck area was roomy. However, we needed to sweep the exterior walls, ceiling, and deck as well as wipe down the furniture before using it. The spider webs and bugs were thick. A good power washing and spray for spiders would greatly improve this area.

We stayed in this house the last week of May and first part of June, 2024. It was perfect for what we wanted this trip. It was one of the lowest prices I saw for lakefront property. We took day trips to Mackinac Island, Boyne, Traverse City and Petoskey, and had breakfast and a light dinner each day at the house. The house is large and well maintained. My contact person Brook was quick to answer my questions.My daughter is a college athlete and needed a gym to workout a few days. Redeemed was a great gym, and was extremely helpful for out of town vacationers.

We had a wonderful family vacation on Houghton Lake. The house was very well equipped with everything you would need plus some extras. There were lots of games and puzzles to play since our entire trip was chilly and rainy. The big windows overlooking the lake were beautiful. I’d recommend for your next family gathering!
