A group of 5 ladies stayed from Oct. 24-27 at the Sunset Retreat. It was wonderful! Nancy had snacks out, the baths all had soaps, shampoo/conditioner, toilet paper, etc. Everything was spotless and the sunsets and mornings on the porch were gorgeous! What a lovely property in a quiet neighborhood in the trees, and right on the water! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you!
Thanks to you and your husband. We did make it home safely, and we absolutely enjoyed our stay at your home. I would definitely recommend The Sunset Retreat to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing place to spend their vacation. I was hoping for a place that my three granddaughters and their parents could enjoy before starting back to school, and Sunset Retreat did not disappoint! On our first night there, we were amazed by God’s amazing light show from the thunderstorm that was moving through the area. On our other three nights, we were amazed by the breathtaking sunsets that we watched from the huge deck facing the lake. The house was everything that we could have dreamed of, and we really enjoyed swimming and kayaking on the lake. My family and I are already hoping for the opportunity spend time at Sunset Retreat next year. It’s quite the experience!
Property is in a good location close to grocery store and small market. Unfortunately there was a septic issue in front yard that had a horrendous odor since Tuesday of our trip and couldn’t enjoy being on porch did notify the property contact to inform them. There was some other small issues like some mold/mildew on the first floor master bath shower and washer had a musty mildew smell as well unsure if it was part of the septic issue
The house was absolutely gorgeous, the view of the lake was spectacular and relaxing, it was the perfect get away!We have rented on Douglas lake 5 times now and this was by far the best time we have had!! I would definitely rent this house again.
Not far from the highway, Lovely house with great view and property, Fully loaded kitchen with amazing space to prep cook and hang out. 10/10 we bought groceries and didn't eat out once. Bathrooms were great, three showers plus a jacuzzi tub in the upstairs suite. House has endless hot water! Also a pack n play + high chair AND kids dishware - an awesome help. Outside, the kayaks were a fun experience. We also brought cornhole and played in the beautifully landscaped fenced-in yard. There really were so many thoughtful touches here and it was a very nice spacious retreat for our family (9 ppl).
