This house is perfect, quite, and spacious, comfortable, wonderful view of the mountains.
Travel to the house was pretty easy to get to. We got screwed with the truck we rented. Coming from Texas there are not alot of AWD trucks. We were given a Blazer..real wheel and man did we almost pay the price with our lives...sliding down the slope backwards and with the cliff below ..not pleasant..ended up going to Denver to swap out truck..long story short..like the other reviews mentioned have a AWD..u better or you will be screwed. The lodge was in a great spot. Very private. Love the nature aspect. Place is stocked with all you need. My wife said it could use some updating and maybe a good cleaning. She saw some webs in the corners. Beyond that we would def stay again. We are clean OCD family so if I am saying we enjoyed it ..take us at our word. The washer and dryer, need new front loaders. Going into 2024 those should be updated. Did appear the owners just swapped out the hot water heater. Water was also super hot. I understand why the owners might not want to update due to the fact the types of people they might get. Not everyone treats a rental like their own house. Some people treat their own house like a barn so I get it. Had to call Phil once to come out to the place due due a bonehead move by me. Accidentally dropped the key in the gap of the deck..he was super responsive...nice guy. Future guest ..attach the key to your main keys. Beyond that thanks for the place for a week. We had a blast ..already talking about heading back next yr.
Super nice place! We had a great time.
Ski trip to breckenridge Spent time with family and dogs. Pretty secluded. More people came during th weekend. There are surrounding cabins. Fully stocked kitchen. Washer dryer was convenient. Loved the fire burning stove/heater. Nice view with balcony on top and bottom floor. 15 min from grocery store. Recommend 4wd to ge there. WiFi was slow
This cabin was beautifully decorated and very functional for our party of 4. The cabin was clean had spacious kitchen and living area and very nice comfortable bedrooms. We were pleased with the entire package. I would recommend highly.
We loved the cabin so much! The area is breathtaking. We went on the most beautiful snowshoe just a mile or so up the road. The cabin can fit many people so comfortably and it was so cozy. We felt right at home and wished we could have stayed longer!
Cab had all the esenciales they have lots of essentials which We loved. Instant contact when question needed
We spent a great week at the cabin with two adult couples. The two story setup with two living rooms worked great for everyone to have their own space when we wanted. We spent fun times making meals, eating, playing board games, watching movies together, and walking down the roads near the house. The cabin is higher elevation than we're used to, around 11,000 feet up, and we had trouble adjusting during our stay. Take it easy, especially the first day! We've stayed in Fairplay and Alma before without much trouble but the cabin was higher than previous stays. We had fresh snow a few days and it was a beautiful scene. You get fantastic views driving up to the house of snow capped mountains. Definitely recommend/need 4WD during winter and taking the last few miles of the road in very slow, especially on a couple hairpin turns. The first few miles in were plowed after each snow. The last mile up to the house wasn't plowed until our last night. They plowed the driveway then too which made it easier to get out. From the upper story of the house you can see the top of some peaks from the living room, kitchen, and balcony. Once you're to the main road, you're minutes from Fairplay and Alma with great access to the surrounding areas. Only an hour from Mount Princeton Hot Springs and less time to Breckenridge. Super quiet neighborhood. We hardly saw anyone around even though there are houses nearby. It feels more secluded with the tall pines surrounding all of the properties. The house was warm and comfortable. Beds were okay. The pull out couch downstairs was horribly uncomfortable. We did experience the noisy fridge frequently which hopefully gets fixed or replaced. Wifi and cell service worked great. The kitchen was pretty well stocked. Not the greatest quality but had nearly everything we wanted. Plenty of supplies and staples are provided including extra blankets, pillows, towels, etc. I reached out to the local property manager a few times and received responses quickly. All in all, we enjoyed our relaxing week and made some wonderful memories celebrating New Year's together.
I had no issues with the property it was exactly what was described. My only complaint was the loud noise from the refrigerator every 2 hours around the clock
For a remote get-away experience this is the home for you! Our group of 6 had plenty of space for sleeping, game playing, cooking, outdoor walks and deck activity. This house has a kitchen that is stocked with just about any pot, pan, and utensil needed. The bar area is a fun amenity. Grab your groceries on your way up the mountain and you are all set whether you plan to stay on property exclusively or venture out for other activities. We were a bit disappointed to not find an outdoor firepit; however, with the dry conditions it is so much safer to not have that temptation! The roads to access this home are certainly a challenge, but once you've navigated them it just gets easier and easier. The setting is beautiful, the home is comfortable, the decks are amazing and the wooded area on property is enchanting!. Our party was 3 generations and every one of us had a grand time.
Perfect house for 2 adult couples. All the amenities that we needed. Very quiet and peaceful. A nice weekend getaway. Close enough for a quick trip into Breckenridge, then pizza and beer on the way home at the South Park Saloon in Alma. On Sunday we watched the packed burro races along Hwy 9. Over 70 burros and runners. Quite the event!!
