The house was extremely dirty and unkempt. In addition to being old, and in need of renovation. there was layers of dust on the surfaces, the kitchen was dirty and sticky with oil covering surfaces, the bedrooms were old with stained walls and ceilings. Paint was peeling off the walls and the house was in need of renovation. The separate annex flat was dingy smelly and the smell of mould and humidity overwhelming. Air conditioning was only available in one bedroom and the living room. The other air conditioning unit in another room was leaking with a bucket under it. With regards to the condition of the bedrooms they are all downstairs and there is humidity, and mould on the walls and the air is unhealthy to breath. The walls are stained and dirty and the condition of the sleeping rooms are worse than a student residence. The curtains are old and dirty and the blinds were filthy. Furniture was old, rickety and uncomfortable. The advertising is misleading and makes no reference to the fact that the house suffers from years of neglect and in need of upgrading. One main concern is the humidity damp and mould which is hazardous to health. The property owner was unpleasant. Not good at communicating . On the day of arrival she informed us that we must get there prior to 6pm. Had she given us advance notice this would have been organised and created less stress. At the end we wasted two weeks rent money on this house, and after staying for two nights had to move out as it was very unpleasant. Two members of our group had worsening Asthma due to the humidity and foul smell in the bedrooms. The owners claimed that they would refund us if we were unhappy but we are still waiting to receive an explanation or a refund. We left the property in a better state than we found it. This house will require thorough renovation and industrial cleaning prior to becoming a decent rental property. With regards to the location it has a nice view but it is quite far from the main town and beaches, and you have to navigate through lots of narrow roads to get there. There are no shops close by. Overall rating if this property would be zero but we couldn’t leave a zero score. I have stayed in cleaner hostels while backpacking in South America. If anyone wishes we are happy to share the original pictures and videos that we took of the house when we moved in.
