We loved the property….. My family and I enjoyed the stay and the house was perfect for our group. We will definitely stay here again.
This property has a lot of potential, but it needs some TLC. Despite the beautiful photos, it's actually an older home, and is in need of some top-down maintenance and repairs. There were lots of little problems: a shower door that didn't close and flooded the bathroom, a moldy table fountain that needed cleaning, a toilet that never stopped dripping,, burnt out lightbulbs, TV remotes that needed batteries, a smelly laundry room, etc. Additionally, the design and layout of the property is unusual. The second bedroom upstairs is more of an alcove, with one wall having a large opening to the downstairs, and the entry door doesn't close from the inside. The closet door in that room is also broken. The upstairs bathroom can only be accessed through the bedroom. Basics like paper towels and dishwashing soap were difficult to find. Cooking paraphernalia like measuring cups and spoons were nonexistent. Outside, the furniture really needs a thorough cleaning or replacement. In short, it's a nice place, in a beautiful area, but it needs some work to be a top-notch property.
This house only sleeps 6 advertise foe 8 , smoke detectors are hanging from wires in hallway , some remotes don’t work , ice maker broken , please don’t rent this house , owner told us we can go somewhere else , stains on pillows in living room , bedsheets had something on them Closet door fell off track in small bedroom , some metal pans has rust on them , we did not cook their at all , I do not recommend this place at all we even left earlier then the 3 night stay
The house was so filthy! Not sure when it was last cleaned, but not before our arrival. Kitchen dishes and items felt slimy, so we washed everything before using it. There were dead bugs in the windowsills. We could not enjoy the patio because the cushions on the outdoor furniture was to gross to sit on, they looked like they had sat out in all weather, and not taken in or cleaned in ages. While the yard was mowed the rest of the outdoor vegetation was very sad. There was even BLUE GUM stuck on the wall in the upstairs bedroom!!! Other reviews mentioned the shower door that wouldn’t close and the pond scum looking fountain in the upstairs bedroom that the owner said she would take care of, but neither were addressed. To top it off, on our second night the master bed mattress fell in the middle of the night when my husband and I happened to roll over at the same time. Upon review, the twin box spring we’re resting on the wood frame, and bent support legs at the head and foot of the bed, but the support beam that went down the middle of the bed was not together at all. The foot was completely missing and the two beams just laying on the ground. It was intentionally built with the owner knowing that a third of the beds support was gone. I’m all fairness the owner did contact us the first night and ask if everything was ok, which I said it was, but how do you tell them tell them it’s dirty and gross come clean it. We were there and had done that by then. When the bed broke I just didn’t even want to deal with what ever their solution would be at that point. My poor husband just went and slept in the third bedroom so we both were not on the unsupported bed. There are far more issues with this house to mention. It was not at all worth the money we paid.
Great place! Would definitely return.
Fun
My family and I stayed here for hurricane Laura! My elderly grandparents to my 1 year old, we all love the stay.
We have stayed in VRBOs around the world and this is the first time we've been disappointed. While we enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with our family, we did not enjoy our experience in the home. The fixtures and appliances are dated and dirty. We washed dishes before we used them. Many of the dishes were chipped. The upstairs shower door did not close properly. While trying to go down to the waterfront, the neighbor's dogs kept us safely behind the fence. The small fountain in the upstair bedroom was dirty. The coffee filter from the previous visitors was still in the coffe pot. My family must have been the first guests of the season.
The house and owner were perfect. Very accommodating. We ha everything we needed for time together and hanging out around a fire!
The location was awesome and we really enjoyed watching the boats go by. There was plenty of room for all of our party
