I wanted to write a glowing review about this home, but must now add a disappointed caveat. My immediate family was here for 2 nights and hosted a small 100th birthday party (approved by the hosts) for my mother. We ( mostly “older” people ) felt we took good care of the home; my (50 year old) niece even sewed up a tear she saw in the seam of their cornhole bag! It is a well-equipped and comfortable home with nice touches such as a basket of orchard apples, superb views, plenty of coffee provided, great seating, many towels, fire pit, charming patio with waterfall, etc. And the hosts are very responsive to communications. ( All that was missing was a washer/dryer.) However, two days after check-out, we were dismayed to receive a note from the host Emily stating that we had damaged the dining room paint with tape and a small red stain on one of the walls. None of us was aware of such damage before we left, and were uncertain how this be, especially as we did not use the dining room; the party occurred outside on the patio. Non-damaging baby plastic hooks were used for decorations; none was placed on that wall- all were placed high on the cross beams. For this paint damage we were billed a $125 fee! I would still recommend a stay at this beautiful home, BUT I would strongly advise a walk-through with the hosts BEFORE you leave to ensure that you don’t later face unexpected additional charges against which you will have no defense.
Outside and in, this place is amazing to host a small group of family and friends. We will be back and will recommend it to friends who plan to stay in the Gettysburg area. The host was very helpful.
Beautiful place Beautiful people
Incredibly gracious hosts that were strong communicators. The house must have been recently redone because everything felt new. The property was incredibly scenic and located within a 5 minute drive of a golf course. It slept our group comfortably. There is no signal, but the wifi was able to support a group of 9 without issue. The yard had enough space to play corn hole and the fire pit was great for the summer nights. We would 100% stay again. So happy we booked this spot.
