Camdenton, Missouri
What's more summery than splashing into a lake or sipping a G&T on the dock This is the essence of Edgewater Lakehouse, a little blue cottage in a quiet neighborhood overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks.
Over many months, we painted every inch, put in new floors and added our touches to turn it into a family oasis. We call it Edgewater, and at its center there are lazy dock days, sunset happy hours, game nights, family time, and - most important - escaping the bustle of it all.
Edgewater sits on a point in a quiet cove along the Little Niangua Arm. We’re off the busy main channel but still a short drive to Camdenton, Sunrise Beach, and Osage Beach. The lakefront neighborhood was settled in the 1950s and the vibe is peaceful and old-fashioned. (To wit, on the drive in, you’ll pass “the pie lady,” where you can order and pick up homemade pies.) There are two private beaches within walking distance, one with a swimming platform, disc golf baskets, and a covered picnic area.
A quiet cove with minimal boat traffic means that kids can swim, float, and play right off the dock without worry of big waves or boats rushing by. If you like to fish, the Little Niangua is known to be a fisherman's paradise. You can catch bass, bluegill, catfish and crappie straight off the dock. Wildlife, including pelicans and great blue heron are your constant companions. Watch them as you sip your coffee on the dock in the morning, or over a sunset cocktail in the evening.
Guests will enjoy the .35 acres with 108 feet of lakefront, a private two-slip dock, and a veil of woods on one side. The location is tucked away and private, absolutely perfect for a family vacation or a long-weekend getaway.
The tiered and expansive lawn is good for running around and playing lawn games. Indoors there’s a 64-inch TV and stacks of board games. Each room has a spot to curl up and read or think, and the upstairs sunroom is the ideal spot for watching the sunrise or set. The kitchen is a cook’s kitchen, complete with everything you might need, including basics like spices, flour, sugar, and olive oil. (And coffee and tea too, because we know what it’s like to forget.)

The house is exactly like the pictures. Lots of space, nice kitchen with everything we needed. And honestly the most comfortable beds we've ever experienced with using vrbo. The location is perfect. There was minimal boat traffic, which we loved since we go down to kayak and paddle board. Its a short drive to shopping and restaurants. The owner was great at communicating with us, and even let us check in early and check out late if we needed. The dock was very nice and well maintained. We would stay here again. We even ordered pies from the Pie Lady as mentioned in the owners description. Highly recommend the banana cream.
The owners are absolutely wonderful! Heath was extremely accommodating and responsive. He gave us a list of recommendations and suggestions and they were all spot-on! We had an amazing stay as the property felt like a home away from home. We traveled with 3 generations, ages ranging from 9-69 and everyone enjoyed. The amenities allowed us to go fishing, swimming, kayaking and most of all relax and reconnect as a family! We had an unforgettable lake house experience that we will cherish for a life time!
We had a great time at Edgewater, it was our first trip to LOTO. Heath was an amazing communicator, we drove in from out of state, and he was able to provide me all the info we needed way in advance so the planner in me could be ready. The kitchen was perfect, and enjoyed eating at the dining table overlooking the lake. There are two bedrooms upstairs and the bunk room was downstairs in the main living area. There is no door for this bunk room, it's open to the living room, just fyi in case you want to watch TV after the kiddos go to bed. We were so worn out from swimming, hiking and kayaking that it wasn't an issue. The dock is beautiful, we fished (poles provided!) and had fun on the lily pad floater. There is little boat traffic here which is really nice, more peaceful and less choppy waters. The fire pit was perfect and we grilled several times. Heath's recommendations to get meat at the Butcher Shop and pie from Artful Pie lady, and ice cream at Scoops were fantastic. It's obvious from the pics, but there are a lot of stairs down to the dock, carrying the kayaks up and down could be challenging, but worth it. Edgewater had lots of board games (we didn't have time to play any tho). And amazing shower (the pic makes it look small but it's huge with lots of safe body wash and hair care provided!). Check out was the best, just leave the trash in the breezeway. No laundry, no bedding removal! Thank you for sharing your home!
We stayed here for a week and enjoyed our stay! The house is decorated in such a cute yet relaxing way and the beds and linens are very comfortable. We loved having our own boat dock! Kitchen worked perfectly for us and we cooked 80 percent of our meals here. The house is very clean and lots of fun yard games and kayaks! Great place to stay!
