As mentioned in the review title, the pictures are very deceiving. The overall idea & concept is excellent, however, the reality is quite different. The description of the property is most correct, in that it is a tropical jungle. The house we rented was rundown / tired, as were the other properties we saw, including the main house & pool area. John, the assistant property manager, stated that the houses were only four years old. I know that the weather plays a factor on aging but these buildings looked to be about twenty years old. The inside of our house showed water damage from leaking roof tiles, small pieces of the drywall ceiling in the bedroom landed on the bed a couple of times. The ceiling fans worked, however, they were not properly balanced and made an annoying rattle & hum. The control switches for the fans as well did not work properly, 2 of the 3 fan switches only ran on high speed making them almost impossible to use. Not to plod on about the state of disrepair, the house the properties in general were all in need of some much needed TLC. In the description for the property, it is stated that internet was available for our house, well that was not true. The only internet that was available was the main house by the pool & to say it was slow, would be a gross understatement. Actually this turned out to be a good thing, I got to read three books, there is life without the internet. Granted the place was quite peaceful, again generally speaking, considering that there were not a lot of people staying here. Although, of the two weekends we spent there, there was a party of local people renting a few of the houses and essentially taking over the pool area for their festivities. One group played loud music until around midnight causing quite a ruckus, the other group the following weekend were extremely courteous. Other than those two occasions, the place was very quiet, mostly because no one else was renting here. If you decide to stay here, you will most definitely need to rent a vehicle.
We absolutely loved our stay here. The property is very conveniently located, with beaches and things to do all around (with a car). The soda across the street is a must try! We ate sweet fried plantains from there every night. We loved the pool on the property. It was so relaxing and pretty during the day and at night. The house itself was beautiful, fully furnished (with everything needed to cook), and clean. Loved being surrounded by the jungle. The manager of the property, John, and Siney were very nice and helpful. They were quick to answer any questions we had and give us helpful tips. They both made our stay very welcoming and peaceful. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better stay and vacation on this beautiful property and in this wonderful country! Thank you again very much John and Siney! -Antea and Omar
The experience I had at this place was formidable. Annabelle was a great host and she helped me with everything I needed. She was truly helpful and very kind. The location is well kept and it’s pool is breathtaking definitely will be coming back.
This place is very quiet and comfortable. I found the house was very spacious for a 1 bedroom. The furnishings were very nice and it was very well decorated. Overall a great place to rest and relax. Siney was very easy to talk to and was very helpful with any issues that we had.
I was looking for somewhere quiet to do some writing and this was the perfect spot. When I mentioned this in my initial enquiry I was upgraded to the two bedroom villa at the far end of the property. It was just what I needed. It's a fair way from the nearest villa and pool area, which for me was a plus. The villa was large, comfortable, quiet and surrounded by nature. Very happy.
