Mt Pleasant, South Carolina
Location, location location... You will be minutes from plenty to do in and around Mount Pleasant, a suburb of Charleston. This neighborhood is perfect for a nice walk or bike ride. Going any direction will either lead you toward sandy beaches, marshy creeks, plenty of restaurants or the Arthur Ravenel Bridge which has an excellent view of the area and wonderful to cross outside of the car!
Also located in the neighborhood AKA the 'Old Village' you will find 'The Old Bridge' which used to link Sullivan's Island to Mount Pleasant during the Civil War era. This has now been converted to a nice park and surrounded by the intercoastal waterway. Great location for fishing, crabbing, shrimping, or watching the sun set over Charleston from the benches.
Restaurants on Shem Creek give you a taste of Charleston’s finest seafood while watching the shrimp boats come in to dock or kayaks paddle on by. A local playground is about 3/4 of a mile away which sports clay tennis courts for public use. The old village 'Pitt Street' area gives you a unique feeling of what Mount Pleasant was like when we first spread out from Charleston onto the islands...
The house is minutes from Sullivan's Island; Home of Fort Moultrie where the first shots of the civil war rang! The Fort and its Museum is free of cost. You are also located about 2 miles from Patriots Point which is a Naval Wartime Museum (Golf Course across street).
In 5 minutes you can also go to the Charleston visitors center downtown. You will see advertisements for all the splendor Charleston and it’s surrounding areas have to offer in one location. There is just too much to list here…
If you want to be local to all things historic to contemporary, the old village is the place to stay…

Excellent family weekend in Charleston! The house is well stocked and the location couldn’t be better. Beds are comfy and the house is updated nicely. I’m torn about giving a good review because I want it to be available next time we go! Thanks Lisa!
Great house. Convenient to everything including beach.
Our stay was great! We could walk to my daughter’s/husband’s home, to visit them and our new grandson. It was so nice and merry! Pam & Bill
We had a very good time and the house was very nice. The neighborhood was very safe and the location for restaurants and everything to do in Charleston was great
Came to SC to see our son and his wife graduate Navy Nuclear Propulsion School. His grandparents stayed with us too. We had friend and in-laws come for the day. It was so nice being being able to have our family all in one house. I could cook for my sailor and visit with them. Lots of outdoor seating for gathering and enjoying meal. Our youngest so has special needs and this house was perfect as it had a fenced yard for him to wander a bit and extra sitting room was perfect for his safety bed that travels with us. We all had a great time.
The location of the house was great. It was very clean. I love both the back and front yards. They make it feel so homey. We didn't want to leave!!!
A clean, perfectly located place to stay that provided wonderful space for my family to unwind after our day’s adventures.
We had a few issues at this property. Sharing a bathroom with even the best of friends if the doors do not close completely. The beds were comfortable and the location was perfect for what we needed. We had to clean the porch before we could use it. Some trouble with lighting and plumbing
Lisa’s place was perfect for what we needed! Clean, close to everything, it was perfect!
Convenient access to downtown, restaurants, beaches and launch ramps. Safe, friendly neighborhood. Nice place with some charm and nicely furnished. Would stay again and recommend to others.
Girls trip was a huge success in large part due to the sweet accommodations. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do in the Charleston area. We each had a bedroom and all of us had good rest on nice beds. We would definitely stay here again.
My husband and our 2 boys stayed the week in July 2022. The neighborhood is very quiet and so nice. Lisa was great to respond via text and VRBO inbox with questions. I didn’t realize the dishwasher was portable (my sister had to explain this) so we didn’t use it. It had no bearing on our stay bc we don’t use a dishwasher at home, but for some it may be necessary to know that up front. It may have been stated and I missed it though. The house is well equipped with all you need, air works great, showers are hot and the front porch is delightful!! Thank you for a great stay, Lisa!
We stayed here while our son had a baseball tournament at Shipyard Park. House was perfect for my husband and I and our 2 teenage boys to have plenty of room to relax. The location. Was amazing, close to many restaurants and stores and only being a short drive to the beach and Downtown Charleston. I definitely recommend staying here.
Peaceful, especially on the front porch. The back porch was a bit cluttered. Short drive to shops and restaurants.
