The house was beautiful with big windows facing the mountain. It was fun watching the snow fall and elk from the living room windows. Reliable WIFI, plenty of games and a smart TV to keep everyone busy. After reading other reviews I was concerned about the driveway in the snow but we didn’t have any problems getting in and out during the week. The property manager even reached out to us about the weather and to warn us of the driveway on our way there which was nice. It was a bummer the garbage disposal didn’t work during our stay and there were dead flies inside the house. Those things happen though. We still had a great time and love visiting the enchanted circle. We’ll be back!!
No issues, great view, would stay again!
It was a perfect location! Far enough out of town to be quiet but not a terrible drive to town. Coffee maker didn’t work but that was quickly replaced. We would definitely rent again
Rented the house for our tenth anniversary weekend because my wife wanted a location with a hot tub. Unfortunately that one feature was the worst part of the property. The water was off color and you could see dirt in the seats/bottom of the hot tub. Dead bugs, bulbs burned out, and dead batteries in remotes for the ceiling fans were other minor issues
When we arrived, there was no way to access the property since the drive had 6”+ of snow. The neighbors were tired of having to help vacationers out but were nice enough to help shovel snow so we could park between their property & the rental. We trekked up the rest of the way, losing a beloved stuffed animal to the snow, & finally got inside. We discovered the floor behind the couches & window sill littered with dead flies, the hot tub was brown & had a beer can floating in it, & the fireplace in the living room hadn’t been cleaned out. We realized a few days in that the flue had been left open the whole time, which explained why the place was so cold. My kids & husband are allergic to cats and dust, which they felt the allergens every time the heat fired up out of the vents, & we had to put sheets on the couches b/c my daughter started breaking out w/hives/eczema flared up after sitting on them. That’s our fault though, knowing it was pet friendly. We were snowed in Wednesday & lost out on our skiing that day, meaning lift tickets & rentals, b/c property management couldn’t get anyone out to clear the drive. We worked for a long time to clear the drive, & finally got out Thurs. afternoon. My husband then bought de-icer since the bucket provided was empty. We left that for the next guest. No dumpster location noted so trash was double bagged & left in kitchen. No help or response from property mgmt at all except small refund for hot tub and being told they know about flies
Met and exceeded our expectations. Had all the comforts of home with an amazing Mountain View. The design and layout are just what you're looking for in a ski retreat. Also, only about 15 minutes to the Angel Fire Ski resort. My daughter and I were the last in the hot tub and we saw a shooting star in that amazing NM night sky. It was truly a spectacular stay for us. Thank you!
Great place to stay! The house was the perfect size for our family (two adults and two kids). It has all the things you may need and more. A lot of board games and great internet speed. The entrance is a little steep so it can be challenging during snowy days. It is paved so no problem most of the time. The host communication is excellent! Stop looking and book this now. You will not regret it!
Had a great time at Christine’s.
We enjoyed our stay. Since it was Autumn, we were lucky enough to stay during peak Fall color change and the surrounding land scape was gorgeous. The house was comfortable and clean. There was an issue with the flies in the house, but the owners were wonderful to work with. They did try to rectify the problem as soon as they could. The exterminators just could not come right away. However, the owners made did try to make everything right by us. We would stay in this VRBO again because these things can happen, and the owners wanted to make things right. We have stayed in many VRBO places and not all want to help. Some could care less once they get your money. The place was well stocked with supplies. We used the trail into the National Forest everyday of our stay. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. The deck offered a nice location for a glass of wine. We even became acquainted with the next-door neighbors, (they are pottery artist). We spent time touring their studio and, of course, buying some beautiful items. No need to go into Taos to buy high end pottery. We would love to come back again.
