Stayed Nov 22, 2025The cottage was so charming and homey. It was super clean and organized. We had everything that we needed! I would highly recommend staying here! If I had to knock anything which honestly wasn't a knock even would be the parking and the road. Parking on the street was a bit tight but there were no problems. It's a very tiny road. However I felt safe and really enjoyed the home and the town! The host was responsive and communicated very well! Five stars !

Stayed Nov 28, 2023The property was only a 5 min walk to Jefferson stone on the Appalachian trail. Unique home. A few maintenance things but we saw a lot of deer in the yard and overall wonderful, relaxing stay.

Stayed Nov 12, 2023I loved this old house and the town. It worked great for me and my four grown kids The imperfections of the house due to age just made me appreciate it more.

Stayed Apr 12, 2026This cottage is in the perfect location! The cottage was clean, well stocked and wonderfully old and quirky. It is an easy walk into the historic town of Harper’s Ferry, but a bit steep going back, so manage your expectations and know your limitations. The host was VERY responsive and a pleasure to work with. The parking space is across the street and very tight against the hill (passenger needs to get out before parking). The town is quaint and has some wonderful local shops to visit. Our visit to Harper’s Ferry and surrounding towns was relaxing and we had a wonderful time exploring!

Stayed Sep 28, 2025Very clean, great location. The photos on site need updated to reflect accuracy. Better yet, some repairs and upgrades would increase rating. Broken bi-fold door leaning against wall in master, porch boards sagging, bathroom baseboard needs replaced. Not a negative but worth knowing…parking is very tight on one lane street and no air conditioning.

Stayed Jul 17, 2025We really enjoyed our stay here, the location is perfect for exploring Harpers Ferry, within walking distance to everything. The cottage is well equipped, clean and cozy, perfect for a couples get away, would book again if returning to HF. The owner was very communicated, had well organized info for the stay and was easy to work with

Stayed Jul 14, 2025The Waverly Cottage was not what we had anticipated, primarily due to inaccuracies in the property's listing and several maintenance issues. While the location was nice, these problems significantly impacted our comfort and overall experience. The most significant issue was the misleading description regarding the bathroooms. The listing indicated two full bathrooms, a key feature in our decision to book for our group. However we discovered there was only one full bathroom and one half bath which led to considerable inconvenience. Furthermore, the shower was in the master bedroom which was very inconvenient for people staying in the other rooms.Beyond this primary concern, we encountered several other issues that detracted from our stay:- The kitchen light flashed on and off constantly, making the kitchen difficult to use safely (we suspect a faulty dimmer switch.). It never worked for the duration of our stay. We notified the property manager, but nothing was done while we were there.-The back porch felt shaky and unstable, raising safety concerns.-Many of the windows had holes in them-Some communication with the property manager was frustrating. I made a request to check in early (knowing that no one was staying in the cottage the previous night because we received an offer to check in early) and after being told he would get back to me I got a canned text later saying check in was a 4:00.-Directions for the wifi were completely incorrect
