The pictures and description of the house are accurate and definitely helped me make my decision to stay here. The property is fully deer-fenced and was secure for our 2 dogs. They had a fabulous time chasing the chipmunks that make their home in the woodpile. The house is well-positioned to take advantage of the State Park access and forest trails. The neighbors have a salt-lick just outside of their yard and this brings herds of deer and elk from the woods. The neighborhood was quiet and welcoming. We took full advantage of the season change that allows us to have our dogs off-leash in the Deschutes National Forest; they love to play and explore in the forest. I would only recommend this if you have good recall with your animals. The property water is from a well or other mineral source; if you are sensitive to smell and taste this may be a factor for you. The property generously provides a filter pitcher for drinking water and cooked/boiled water doesn't retain the well-water taste. Keep this in mind if you have sensitive skin/hair as this is the shower water. The hot tub is a lovely amenity for this property. It was very relaxing after a long day hiking with our dogs to clean up and take a long soak. When we stayed, we had a couple of issues with the dishwasher not working and the bedframes were unstable. The laundry is also a bit complicated to use and very loud. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. This was a great introduction to Central Oregon.
Great location. House could use some updating, but overall very clean and functional. I wish these vacation rentals used fragrance free laundry soap and cleansers though. Hot tub cover needs fixing.
This property is perfect for relaxing and beautiful hiking. The neighbors we met were really kind also.
Great place to enjoy nature. Hiking and biking trails right or the backyard.
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location and home! Adventure right out the back door, walking/hiking trails, fishing, floating the river. Close drive to the lakes. An hour to Crater Lake. Quiet area, nice community. We stayed a week. Enjoyed the sunset in the backyard every evening. Stars are amazing!
The house was in a quiet neighborhood perfect for relaxing but close enough to lots of activites.
Very nice.
We loved this property. The photos provided on the website are very accurate. It was so nice to walk out the backdoor into the LaPine State Park. It was a nice walk to the river and our dog enjoyed having a space to run. If you prefer to dine out every evening it is a bit of a drive to dining options. The kitchen was nicely set up so we cooked in. The two grocery stores nearby had most anything that you needed for meal prep. We will stay at this property again if we are in the LaPine area.
Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is right on a trail leading into LaPine State Park so all we had to do was walk out the back door and be in the forest. This was wonderful and not apparent from the house description. House is beautiful with all the amenities and we were very glad to have stayed there. There were some issues and the property management individual was completely unresponsive. Water filtration was not working and water was too terrible to even brush teeth with. Had to buy bottled water for the dog. Dishwasher had standing water and we were unsure if the wanted us to run it. We wound up washing dishes by hand. Appliances were a bit complicated, better directions for use would have been helpful. Internet was very spotty but this may have been due to the fires close by.
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Vacation home was perfectly situated close to hiking, biking, and geological wonders! House was clean and well equipped with kitchen and bath amenities. Front porch was great for unloading vehicles in the rain, but did not have the best view as the garage was built in front of the home. A porch would be better served off the back of the house as the woodland view was lovely with tall pines, bird houses, and a community of ground squirrels providing entertainment. Things of note- Trifold downstairs bathroom in how to turn tub faucet to shower- Not only is the clothes dryer in the garage, a timer needs to be set or it will run for hours.- The sun is beautiful, but quite bright in the mornings. Black out shades in the bedrooms would be helpful.
