Mountain View, California
Summary:
This bright 3-bedroom home is just a few minutes' walk from bustling downtown Mountain View and is the classic "Old Mountain View neighborhood" with tree-lined streets. The home itself is elegantly furnished and appointed, with comfortable furnishings and tasteful wall coverings and Persian rugs. The kitchen has everything you'll need, and the two separate offices make working from home a delight -- note that one of the offices doubles as a bedroom. The main bedroom is privately situated upstairs and has its own bathroom and walk-in closet. Finally, there is a spacious back yard, perfect for entertaining in our delightful California sun.
Included in the price is a bi-weekly cleaning.
Guest Access:
The guests have complete and exclusive access to the entire home and the back yard. There is a cottage in the back, with a tenant, but the cottage is quite separate and there is little to no contact with the person living there. It's completely private.
The Neighborhood:
Old Mountain View is a classic neighborhood, well-known for tall trees, well-maintained streets, and elegant homes. Downtown Mountain View's Castro Street has a large selection of restaurants and coffee shops, and 3 blocks of it are a pedestrian-only section. At one end of Castro Street is the train station from which you can catch Caltrain north to San Francisco (40-70 minutes) or south to San Jose (20-30 minutes). You can also catch the VTA light rail service.
Getting Around:
Keep in mind Silicon Valley was built out in the 1950s and 1960s, with cars in mind -- hence public transit, while available, isn't that great. You'll definitely need a car, or take Uber or Lyft to get around. You can easily walk to downtown, including the train station.
Interaction with Guests:
The owners are gone, but the property manager lives just a few minutes away in case of any issues.
