We stayed at the cabin over Spring Break with our two children. Although the cabin was small, we didn't mind at all. There was plenty of space for us all and we were fortunate to have great weather so we were outside most of the time. We loved the seating areas all around the property. We ate every meal outside at the table on the deck which allowed us to take in the great view. We loved using the paddle boards and canoe as well. My only suggestion would be to find a way to attach the ladder to the dock. Since it didn't fully attach, it made getting in and out of the water a little tricky. The owner was very quick to respond to my communication when we had a question. Being pet friendly was a huge plus as well. We could never figure out how to get the TVs or the A/C window unit to work in the living room, but we didn't really miss not having them. We had a fantastic time and at the end of our stay, no one wanted to leave. The true sign of a great stay. Thank you!
Very clean comfortable place to stay. Beautiful views of the lake. We had a lot of fun!
We were overall very happy with the rental. The paddle boat, canoe, and paddle boards were great to be able to be use and we loved having a dock. Only complaint is that the ladder on the dock is not attached to the dock at all and made getting out of the water a little difficult.
My husband, myself and my 2 kids had e a great time in this little cabin. It is so cozy and the outdoor area is perfect. It was a little cold and we spend a lot of time around the fire pit. They had plenty of firewood stocked. The paddles were in good condition and allowed us to go and explore without getting too wet due to cold wearther. It was so calm and relaxing. The house was built in between big trees and had so much shade and protection. I also enjoy that the whole area is completly fenced so we could let the dog free without worrying to escape or bothering the neighbors. The house is a little old but has everything we needed. Besides we wanted to stay outside anyway. The kids were super happy and wanted to come back.
This was the perfect cabin for us, it has its quirks and it wasn’t pretty but it was right off the lake in a serene cove. We were able to disconnect, enjoy each other’s company and relax all weekend. Plenty of things to do, we used the canoe and SUP to venture out into the lake. Played horseshoes, went fishing(caught some small bass) and grilled some good dinners! Great stay, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen functional and location was great.
Nice place. The fish feeder on the neighboring cabin was a nice touch. It made sure my young sons and I caught many perch and bluegill. My wife and sons really liked the canoe. We enjoyed the paddle boat and even fished from it a little. We shut off the AC in the front room the first night and were not able to get it to turn back. We all had to cram into the other bedroom on the second night because the front room was too hot. My T-Mobile phone had no reception so I could not call / email the property manager to let him know (which I did not mind too much since the reason to rent the cabin was to 'unplug'). They also had a handy man come by. He was kind and obliging, but we were really startled when someone showed up and started sledge hammering the front walkway. Overall, we had a nice time and I hate to ding the property a whole star, but I would have given it 4 stars had the AC came back on.
Very nice!
Peaceful little cove. House was tastefully furnished. A little cold this weekend but in summer I imagine this place is perfect. Big giant trees to keep sun off of you. Husband and I really enjoyed spending our anniversary here. Fishing was nice also.
Our stay was for a Father - Son getaway, and we both really enjoyed our time. We took full advantage of the canoe (provided) to fish the quiet inlet off the river. My son was able to catch enough fish to keep him happy, which made me happy as well. The cabin itself is in a great location, and it was quite comfortable for the two of use all weekend. We also enjoyed making a visit to the Longhorn Cavern - great activity during the heat of the day!
This little quaint, charming home was perfect for two couples. Upon arrival the place is uniquely landscaped, towering over the property are beautiful live oaks alive with squirrels, birds singing, hummingbirds fluttering in and out of the vivid colors of flowers, out in the waters fish jumping with a crane or two out on the island looking eagerly for their perfect catch of the day! A lot of extra amenities to keep you busy. Offered are two nostalgic bicycles awaiting for you to recapture memories of your childhood, paddle boat, canoe, for the really daring adventure are paddle boards. Paddle boards seem to be the HOT trend for this area. I am 51 years young and had never experienced these cool water boards. Sit, stand, body surf etc. I had my son of (26 yrs) and his GF with us so, he showed my husband (61 yrs) and I how to use these cool gems. I'm a big try anything person, my husband is the stay grounded, comfort zone type. Sum it up we all had a blast on these paddle boards!!! Overall, property was clean, well supplied, great amenities, manager very nice, great service. The only little minor things we will add is flapper in toilet was annoying, it kept hanging and coming off the track almost every time we flushed toilet. (I'm sure Steve has already fixed). The one thing I would like to see available is a smoking ash bucket or receptacles for the smokers. I do not smoke but, my husband does. (outside) My husband used a water bottle to dispose of his butts. Upon us leaving and putting the canoe back I noticed several cigarette butts lying on the ground that were not my husbands brand. I picked them up because I did not want us to be blamed for doing this. You have some people who are respectful of others property and some whom are not. I just feel this would be helpful in maybe minimizing cigarette butts being tossed and left lying about trashing the property.
