Saugerties, New York
Arrowfield is an exceptional 1930's riverfront estate on 12 beautiful, secluded acres. The property has it's own stunning, 100 ft. beachfront on the Hudson River for picnics, swimming, fishing and boating! The house has been restored with all original details and trim intact. There are 16 spacious, comfy rooms -- most with fireplaces and views of the river.
The estate is elegantly furnished and luxuriously comfortable. Special features include a grand porch overlooking a 60 X 20 swimming pool and the Hudson River. A majestic center hall opens to a sweeping two-story staircase. The grounds include mature trees, lush landscaping and gardens. You'll enjoy spectacular views of the river and mountains. A boat can even be moored at Arrowfield! This is one of the few properties of its kind along the Hudson.
This great location combines the beauty of the Hudson Valley and Catskills with the charm and sophistication of the arts and entertainment of Upstate New York. New York City is only two hours away by train or car. The estate is a five minute walk from the gorgeous historical district of Saugerties Village which has numerous restaurants, movie theater, interesting retail shops, playing fields, ice rink, and very close to HITS (for all you horse lovers). It is also only a 30 minute drive to Hunter Mountain, 15 minutes to Woodstock, 40 minutes to the Berkshires.
Great country home and location for family vacations and gatherings.
We can also arrange a masseuse, cook, and trainer which will come to you, as well as a housekeeper and babysitter, upon request at an additional charge and with advanced notice.

This is a very special property. Everything you need or could want is there. The setting and views are unforgettable. The host is attentive and accommodating. She quickly came to our rescue when our previously reserved house canceled three days before our arrival. We would love to return. Thank you!
The house and property is absolutely amazing. The views are gorgeous and we slept 12 people very comfortably. Kimberly was very responsive and helpful!
This is a unique and gorgeous property. Somehow incredibly elegant and very comfortable all at the same time. I have never seen so many pillows in all my life. We stayed for 5 days over Thanksgiving with 13 family members: adults and 2 teenagers. We had many wonderful meals in the huge dining room, cooked together in the well-equipped kitchen, took walks to the lighthouse, some even ventured down the bank to the river from the house, did crossword puzzles and read some of the many excellent books in the house collection. Kimberly was always in reach if we had questions. There were some things that we didn't expect (or didn't read carefully enough); things to factor in to your decision. One issue is that the first floor room that was described as another bedroom is actually the room that the back door opens into, the door that guests are requested to use for coming in and out of the house. And, there are no curtains on the windows. So whoever sleeps there has to deal with no privacy either from the inside or out. Speaking of curtains, the only curtains in the house are sheer lace. Incredibly beautiful lace, but light comes streaming in (whether you're ready to wake up or not) and some people did feel kind of exposed to the outdoors. Additionally, most of the bathrooms have no curtains at all, not even lace. I get why this decision was made; the house is on a large property not close to any other houses, and the views out the windows are wonderful. You wouldn't want to cover them up. But some of my family members made makeshift curtains with towels in order to feel comfortable showering. And speaking of showering, although there are 7 bathrooms, there are only 2 showers. This is actually in the listing description, so we were aware before we went and it was fine, we enjoyed the big antique tubs, at one point there was kind of a fight over who got to use the clawfoot tub next, and the bathrooms were impeccably clean. The whole house was perfectly clean actually. I'm allergic to mold and dust and fragrance in laundry detergent, and almost always have a reaction wherever I rent. I did not have a single allergic reaction in this house. We would all go back again in a heartbeat. Would be really fun to experience summer or fall color here. Highly recommend, and thank you to Kimberly and your family for your hospitality.
The house is beautiful and well stocked,(plenty of towels, dishes and kitchen supplies). The house is really six bedrooms with the seventh bedroom being a living room with pullout bed which is not comfortable and a cot in a downstairs room which has no air conditioning. Many of the bathrooms only have tubs including the master. The grounds are spectacular and very private with spectacular views. The river is a hike which my grandchildren enjoyed. There were also many games in cupboard which my grandchildren enjoyed.
One of a kind experience!
Three generations of our family spent Thanksgiving here.. The experience was wonderful, the accommodations were very good and there was plenty of activities.
This house was everything I wanted to celebrate my August birthday with several friends. The owners were there when we arrived and showed us around the house and gave local recommendations. Through our long weekend, we sat on the porch and drank coffee, we swam in the pool and went for walks, we cooked elaborate dinners, and then we sat on the porch and drank wine. It's a comfortable and well-equipped property, and the view is beautiful. Two recommendations if you go in the summer: bring mosquito repellent (a lot of it), and watch the doors to the bathrooms, because they swell in the humidity (several people got trapped and had to holler for help). :)
Its amazing how pristine yet feels like a home. Best property by far I have stayed!! Cant wait till next year!!
THE MANOR HOUSE IS FURNISHED WITH ART-DECO' OBJECTS COLLECTED IN AN ECLECTIC STYLE AND PLACED THROUGHOUT BOTH THE COMMON ROOMS AND THE PRIVATE SPACES. WOODEN FURNITURE IS CARVED IN THE FRENCH RENAISSANCE STYLE WHILE PAINTINGS WITH GILDED FRAMES AND ORIENTAL VASES ABOUND. THE MANICURED GRASS ACREAGE FLOWS DOWNWARD TOWARD THE HUDSON RIVER, OFFERING DELIGHTFUL VIEWS OF BOATING TRAFFIC AND VARIED BIRD AND ANIMAL LIFE. THE POOL WAS A DRAW FOR ALL THE FAMILY,(AGES 12 TO 83) AND KITCHEN EASILY SERVED ALL OUR VARIED CULINARY NEEDS. DINING IN THE FORMAL DINING ROOM BROUGHT US BACK TO AN EARLIER ERA REMINISCENT OF A FRENCH DRAWING ROOM. ALL THAT WAS MISSING WAS A STRING QUARTET PLAYING UNOBTRUSIVELY IN A CORNER. DURING THE DAY WE RESTED, PLAYED GAMES AND HAD GREAT CONVERSATIONS IN THE PEACEFULNESS AND BEAUTY OF THE GIGANTIC PORCH THAT RAN THE LENGTH OF THE HOUSE SITTING AND SHARING COMFORTABLE CHAIRS W/ CHAISE RED CUSHIONS. BEWARE OF THE INSECTS THAT ATTACK AND BITE IF YOU WISH TO DINE OR HAVE DRINKS ON THE PORCH IN THE EARLY EVENING - THE INSECTS WERE BEASTLY AND UNFORGIVING DESPITE OUR USE OF REPELLENTS. MUST WEAR CLOTHING AND COVER THE EXPOSED SKIN WITH LIBERAL USE OF BUG REPELLENT. OTHER THAN THIS UNPLEASANTNESS, WE (ALL 8 ADULTS AND SIX CHILDREN), ALL SLEPT WELL IN 7 PRIVATE BEDROOMS, ALL WITH BATHROOMS, SOME WITH BATHTUBS OR SHOWERS. OVERALL, IT FELT LIKE A TIME WARP BACK TO THE EARLY 1900'S AND MY WIFE AND FAMILY THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE FULL EXPERIENCE.
I came across this property and immediately knew it would be perfect for my family's vacation. The spacious house and outdoor area was perfect for bbq and everyone really enjoyed the pool. The house is very well kept and had all updated amenities. I loved that the property faces the Hudson River as it was quite pleasant waking up to every morning. The owner of the house made things incredibly easy by leaving simple house instructions & restaurant/ grocery recommendations. The property was so serene and was such a great place to kick back and relax for the week. I certainly hope to come back and visit again soon.
