We absolutely loved our stay at Green Gables! The perfect location to explore all that the Asheville area offers. Georgia was a wonderful host, communication was great and she even brought us some homemade cookies. Sweet! The house was as advertised, beautifully appointed throughout with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We especially appreciated the Asheville history books and visitor guides available. We are already contemplating our next visit to Asheville and we hope to stay here again.

First of all, great communication, when we arrived, delicious cookies and my family is not a huge fan of coconut but they are all gone! I mainly booked this place because I loved it and was so excited however my husband and our kids 10 and 8 were excited too! We were close to everything, felt very safe and slept well!

Not enough good things can be said about Green Gables. It's a stunning, historic home just south of Downtown with so much character. Georgia the owner is a fabulous host who is always available to ask any questions. As you can see in the pictures, the remodeling and interior design has been completed with so much style and class. If you are not sure about it....just book it. You will be happy you did. Thank you Georgia!

We had a wonderful stay at Green Gables! It’s a beautiful property, and in a great location. Our host, Georgia, was very accommodating and a great communicator… and seeing cookies waiting for us upon our unexpected late arrival was a nice surprise! Our 2 pugs enjoyed the stay, as well. Would recommend Green Gables to anyone!

House was lovely and as pictured. The bed was very comfortable, shower had great pressure, and kitchen was well stocked. My dog appreciated the couch cover so he could snuggle. The location is walkable to a lot as long as you're good with hills. The cookies left for us were delicious. The owner does live upstairs, but we hardly noticed her.

If the baroque, over-decorated style of the Biltmore isn’t to your taste, Green Gables is a refreshing alternative. The house has an old-world charm and easy comfort, free of the pretension found at that tourist trap just south of town. The wide wrap-around porch, overlooking a beautifully tended garden alive with songbirds and butterflies, quickly became our favorite spot to relax. Inside, we found the home thoughtfully and elegantly furnished, with every amenity we could want, including a kitchen better equipped than our own.Our stay felt far too short. We hope to return to Asheville and to Georgia’s warm, unobtrusive hospitality next time for a week longer.

Amazing stay! Our host thought of everything. Property was perfectly appointed. Our favorite thing was the wrap around porch for morning coffee and evening reflections. Could not have asked for anything more (and there were cookies )

Stayed here with a group of friends for a race that was happening in the area. The house was beautiful, with a lovely antique vibe, and nice amenities. The location was great for exploring the downtown areas, we were able to easily uber and walk for most of the trip. Would definitely stay here again!

Very comfortable home with wonderful wraparound porch. So many different seating areas depending on whether you prefer sun or shade. Our dog gives it 4 paws thanks to the fenced in front yard. The home was also close to everything Asheville has to offer.

Location was great! House was very clean and well stocked! We go out of our way to pick houses that are to ourselves out of privacy, and we have a dog. We did not find out until check-in that the owner lives upstairs. She apparently sends a text AFTER booking that she lives on the top floor and you can cancel within 24 hours, which she admits she forgot to send. She apologized and stated it was in the agreement (page 6), however after spending several hours of looking for entire property/house to find out it is not all ours is extremely frustrating. With that said, she made homemade cookies that were great, house was very clean and well stocked, location was great, but will now have to not trust what’s written in the descriptions when searching for a place to stay.

We really enjoyed the proximity to the Arts District, restaurants and coffee shops. Additionally, the fenced in front yard for our dog was a huge plus. We often sat on the covered front porch to relax.

Loved the location and the front yard! But the porch and furniture outside were not cleaned at all, making the outside not an area we could hang out in. The dogs loved the yard, though! There was also a trail of ants in the sugar bowl on the kitchen counter, and clutter scattered around outside (gardening and planting supplies, a hose that was still running, etc). I don't believe the dishwasher was working, though I only tried to operate it as we were leaving. The owner stays above you on the second floor, and as far as we know, was there the entire time since her car stayed in the driveway. After booking, she sent a message that detailed she'd stay on the second floor in a not-attached apartment, and offered to refund payment if any information she shared wasn't ok with me. At that point, I'd already spent time searching and booking so I went along with it, but that should be shared in the property information more transparently on the front end. Overall, it was a pretty home, but needed cleaning, and the upstairs owner situation wasn't what I would've liked. Knowing everything I know now, I would not book here again.

Stayed during a visit to Asheville with a friend looking for a home. The home was on-point with its location, decor, comfort and every possible need anticipated and provided. The highpoint of this VRBO is taking the time to meet its Host. She is a fascinating, charming and thoughtful host. We truly felt as if we were her guests. Thank you!

We came to Asheville for our son’s wedding and found this beautiful 1900’s home. Although filled with a lot of antique furniture it has all the modern amenities. It’s only five minutes from downtown Asheville which made it a perfect location for all of our festivities downtown. Georgia our host was also very available for any needs and even gave us a plate of delicious cookies! Would definitely rent again if we are ever back in the area.Dave, Cindy, Cam & Joyce

It was chilly in Asheville during our stay, so we spent a lot of time at Green Gables. It's a cozy setting for meals and playing games. We loved the heated floors in the bathrooms. The porch is a big bonus. We were in Asheville for the Biltmore and it is a really easy drive to the estate. A good visit in a very clean and comfortable home.

We had a lovely stay at the Green Gables in Asheville on South French Broad ave. The home is close to downtown in a historic residential neighborhood. You can still see the damage caused by Helene, but Asheville has recovered enough to warrant a visit. The home itself is well-appointed, beautifully decorated, and the owner was kind and very responsive. We were traveling with our dog and the property is well suited to accept our four legged friend, while still maintaining a high level of cleanliness. Two thumbs up!

We had a beautiful home to stay in. Out hostess, Georgia, was wonderful. But we cut our vacation two days short to get out before all the roads were flooded. Hurricane Helene hit the first night we stayed. We had to leave early. Georgia brought us candles and French press coffee makers. She was awesome.

Our family of five adults thoroughly enjoyed the 3 night stay at Green Gables. It was sparkling clean, well appointed with amenities and with a great quiet location. The decor was exquisite and shows the owners passion with interior design. Communication before and during our stay with Georgia, the owner, was fantastic. I appreciated all the tourist information she provided on Asheville immediately after making the booking. Morning coffees and afternoon cocktails on the huge wrap around porch were so relaxing. Would love to return to the property, and perhaps next time find time to relax around that firepit.

We had a wonderful stay at Green Gables. It was a beautiful historic home with lots of character & charm. It was very relaxing surrounded by plenty of trees and green space even within the city - we saw tons of wildlife. It was a convenient walk to the downtown area with bars & restaurants - just over a mile or so depending on where you're going. Communications with host were easy and prompt. The place was clean and fully furnished - no complaints at all!! Definitely would recommend and stay again.
