Black Butte Resort charges $9 per person per day for a resort fee. This was an additional $324 for our group. Letting people know in advance would be helpful.
Great location and layout. Nice for large families, we had 14. Very disappointed in the condition of home, the carpet in particular is filthy. In addition, the house was not cleaned properly, crumbs in fridge and cabinets, mold around shower heads, and the grill looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all summer.
We brought a large group out - 10 adults and 5 kids - and the house was more than comfortable for accommodating all of us together, and apart with the kiddos doing there own thing. The house has multiple separate bed + bath areas for good privacy. Nice kitchen with high-end appliances. The only gripe is that, while the house was clean when we arrived, there was a bit of a lack of a house management and basic supplies. The issues were all pretty minor, not significant enough individually to be a big deal at all, but collectively impacted our impression of the property.
This is our second visit - nine adults and nine grandchildren. Spacious, well-stocked kitchen. However, the home is advertised as having a hot tub and the hot tub did not work. We started our stay on Friday, a technician did not come out until Sunday, and while the hot tub temperature was fine by Sunday night, the chemicals were so strong that our eyes burned when the hot tub cover was removed. I have been in touch with Vacasa about this, requesting a partial refund, and have not had follow up. It has been over ten days.
This was a great house for 4 families. We had 19 adults and kids and it never felt cramped. We were able to lspread ourselves out without any issue. Biggest gripe was the heat - it was absolutely freezing when we got into the house and it took over 24 hours to heat it up. It would have been helpful for someone to go in and turn the heat on the day before. Kitchen was stocked, a little light on mugs and wine glasses. Fireplace works, and there was wood, but they didn’t stock kindling so we struggled to light it well with paper. Other than these minor things, great place for a few families especially with kids!
This was our second time staying in this house, and it is absolutely perfect! Great location, clean and great for multiple families and lots of kids.
Loved the open common areas including the large table and living area. 7+ bedrooms was great for hosting our larger group, proximity to the tennis courts was also a plus. Lighting could be better in the common areas and would have preferred a tv in these areas but overall nothing that affected the overall stay. Would go back again.
We had a great time at this home in Black Butte. Well located with ample room for a large group. Highly recommend.
The size of the house was great
This house is good for a group. Plenty of space for everyone.
We stayed in this lovely, huge house for a week very comfortably with 13 people who flew in from different parts of the country. All of the extra amenities really made it easy, like the extra fridge and multiple washers and dryers. We loved using the bikes and we biked to at least one pool per day. I can't imagine doing Black Butte any other way now. The outdoor ping pong table was a huge hit with our crew as well. We would definitely stay here again!
plenty of space, lots of beds, huge patio/deck/ lots of bikes, great location, nicely equipped kitchen
The house and the area were beautiful. The house was plenty large for our group of 10 family members. We enjoyed the open kitchen and living area, making it easy to share cooking and conversation. The deck was large and comfortable. Black Butte Ranch has great walking and biking areas, lovely pools. The one drawback was difficulty in communicating with Vacasa. Their website was dense, making it difficult to find my reservation and even to pay the bill. They did not respond to emails, and there was a 2 1/2 hour waiting period to get someone on the phone. They sent the house code information 90 minutes before we were to arrive, and it got buried in my span email because it wasn't labeled vacasa or Vrbo. The only way to reach them by phone was to click on safety issue when we got there. They clearly run with minimal staff, and it was my impression that the person I finally talked to was in some overseas location.
Overall, we really enjoyed this house for our larger group. There are more bedrooms than typical for houses with this high of occupancy which was great. The room with the twin beds is a little odd, but serves its purpose. The spaces to hang out inside the house were great. The kitchen was large, but unfortunately both the main fridge and one of the dishwashers were broken.
