Great
We wanted to love this cabin but we arrived in the middle of a serious storm which wiped out electricity for the home on our first night. I was traveling with a newborn and a 10year old who was terrified of the dark stormy mountain. Vacasa did nothing to fix it but luckily the local utility had it back on at 330am. There is no cell reception at the cabin even though there is service right down the road, so without wifi we were stranded without any communication. Vacasa did not refund or provide any compensation for the power outage. When the lights came on we noticed that the cabin was surface level clean but had clearly not had a good deep clean in a long time - spiders and spiderweb dangled over top of the beds, dust and mildew smell throughout the main room, and dirt and grime on a lot of the kitchen items. Also this cabin is supposed to be very remote and removed from civilization, yet you have a clear view of the nearby main road whoch provides noise pillution. That all said, the jacuzzi was great, the beds were comfy, made the best of it and really liked the mountain area but Suches, GA is so remote from any stores and amenities that we would not be returning, we want more of a happy medium when traveling with family. Also, be warned that there is only one nearby store that sells overpriced grocery items and breakfast/lunch - the egg salad sandwich made us all sick so I would stay away from that item.
Cabin had everything we needed; hot tub was nice and relaxing; little local joints for food were cool; bring a jacket because the master bedroom is a little cold, but that just makes for better snuggling.
This place was awesome, so cute and had everything we needed. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The hot tub was nice and warm and ready for us. Everything was clean. There is a little country store right down the street. The only trouble we had was finding the place in the dark. We arrived later in the evening around 8, so it was pitch black. GPS was not clear that the “destination on the right” was actually a long street type of driveway with several cabins on it. It was not clearly marked so it was hard to tell that wasn’t just a single cabins driveway. (It might possibly be partially due to exhaustion that we missed it too.) But once we found it, we were good. This area is so underrated, there’s so much to see! We will definitely be back!
House is great and location is awesome. Really had a great time. House is in the middle of everything to do in north GA
If looking for a dark remote cabin, this is it. Very cozy but space very tight and no place to put personal items or clothing. Too much “cabin decor.”
Tucked in the woods and beautiful surroundings. Local general store has great food. Towns are close and lots of wineries. We will definitely be returning!
If you want to get back to nature with porch sitting and hot tub floating this is the place for you. Decorated to the moon with mountain decor. AC works fine in our 98 degrees temperature! Beds and linens are super cozy and comfortable.
My friend and I were looking for a mountain cabin to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. We found “Life’s a Hoot” in Suches, GA. The cabin was clean, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook and clean, the furniture was comfy (couch and two recliners!), and the beds were perfect! The country store down the road offered the necessities and had a kitchen to serve meals. The surrounding areas were breathtaking. We drove to nearby Blue Ridge and Helen, and hiked through the trails of the nearby parks. The weather was absolutely perfect. To top it off, a daily hot tub soak was just what I needed to get the ultimate relaxation time I desperately needed. You will not be disappointed to spend time at this vacation rental.
