GRAND HAVEN, Michigan
The Eagle's Nest is a cozy one bedroom, one bath property that includes the entire upstairs portion of a duplex located in the heart of old town, Grand Haven.
You'll be within a half-mile of downtown Grand Haven, local festivals, the weekly farmer's market, breweries and bars, or boutique shopping. The iconic Grand Haven State Park is 1.7 miles away and accessible via a short car ride or a long walk/short bike ride if you're feeling adventurous.
Note that this property is upstairs, so you'll need to walk up/down a stairway. Also, this is a 100+ yr. old property. The floors squeak a bit and the entryway into the bedroom is a bit short (around 5'6").
This was the perfect place to stay and work near family during the Thanksgiving holiday! It's walkable to the waterfront and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. The hosts are super friendly and the yard was great for my dog (it's not fully fenced in though, so make sure to bring a leash!). Would absolutely stay here again.
It's all about location, location, location. The place worked well for me as a result of this. It's small (cozy) though and an item of note is the bedroom door opening being 5'4 tall. While I possibly missed this in the listing when booking,it was a bit of a challenge to not hit your head on the door frame. One must adapt and overcome to situations in life when they arise though. I simply placed the linen basket in the middle of the doorway as a reminder. Other than that, the place was great for me.I want to mention that having to use a key to lock the door did seem a bit odd, considering it has an electronic lock.It would be hard to beat the location though with this property! The host were also very nice and the neighborhood appeared to be very safe as well. It's also close to a small community park.
Watch out for the Bedroom Door -5'4. Steep Stairs. Refrigerator is very tiny and out of reach. We also got Doubled Booked. People were checking in our occupied unit at 11:30 PM The front lawn could be kept in belter condition. LEVEL the floors - too many different steps/levels through out the apartment.
Small place with some quirks but very nice budget friendly option for Grand Haven
We stayed here for a few days while visiting Grand Haven, South Haven, Sugatuak, and Holland Michigan. The house is in town and very convenient for travelers. We found the house to be clean and welcoming! We particularly loved that we could bring our pets :) We would definitely recommend this location to others!
Wonderful location and town
Double bed mattresses needs replacing, very uncomfortable. The windows need blinds or shades. The living room needs lamps on end tables besides couch. The opening to bedroom is 5 feet 4 inches. My husband is 6 feet and banged his head a few times. The TV in the bedroom did not work. The trash can was filled to the brim on Sunday, we checked in on Saturday. The dog downstairs tried to attack our 2 dogs when we tried to bring them to back yard. Our dogs were on leashes. We then had to walk our dogs to the park. We left 1 day early.
We always love our time in Grand Haven! This place was so beautiful and close to downtown! Definitely will be coming back soon!
The property is tiny and tidy! It felt like a treehouse. Definitely spacious enough for three people, but with a compact, tiny-house feel. Everything was perfectly clean and welcoming. Loved using the firepit in the back yard.
This property was perfect for us. Easy check-in, I was able to park on the street directly in front of the property. It was clean and had the amenities we needed. Close enough to walk to the downtown area for adults and older children. A park within walking distance for younger children. A nice backyard for kids and dogs to play and a good neighborhood with a bakery, coffee shop, and a couple restaurants within 1/4mi. or less. I would stay here again!
Even though it’s not right in town it’s a good location. Easy to get to town and beach walk, bike ride or drive. A plus is it’s a 3 minute walk to restaurants, coffee shop, and ice cream parlor.
Had most everything I needed. Small 1 bedroom with kitchen. Host was available for whatever was needed. Happy that it was dog friendly!
Gabriel was very helpful during booking as well as when we were there :) Very clean, well located home. Neighborhood feels safe and quiet. Enjoyed a lovely Bonfire in the evening. Being tall the only challenge was the door jam going into the bedroom is very low.
