Stayed Nov 22, 2025My new all-time favorite destination!I'm so glad we brought our mountain bikes - DuPont Forest trails are truly epic. Ridgeline is a must-ride. We started at the Guion Farm trailhead just a couple of miles away, but the Lake Imaging parking lot turned out to be the better choice - right at the bottom of Ridgeline and downhill all the way. It’s a blue-level trail that riders of almost any skill level can enjoy. The cabin did not disappoint. It was very clean, extremely comfortable, and well-equipped with everything you’d want for a mid-adventure reset - dishwasher, washer/dryer, and even a hose to rinse off your bikes. You can tell the owner takes real pride in this outdoor getaway. Everything is thoughtfully done, from the quality of the furnishings to the fire pit (with firewood!), cornhole, and other activities to keep you entertained. Even the internet is fast, thanks to Starlink - great if you need to get a bit of work done during your stay.If I had to nitpick one minor thing, it would be the electronic lockbox—I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me. Thankfully, my wife had it covered. It only came up once during our stay, so not a big deal at all.Overall, we had an amazing time in North Carolina and couldn’t have picked a better location or rental. Thank you for an unforgettable adventure!

Stayed Oct 10, 2025Wonderful property for weekend stay near Dupont Forest. Fully furnished, very comfortable, host is great communicator. Log cabin home is absolutely beautiful and has everything our family of mixed ages needed, including outdoor activities for fire pit, corn hole, and trail hike. Home is located within minutes of all activities we came for—horses, waterfalls, orchard and downtown areas.

Stayed Jul 12, 2025This cabin is well stocked making it easy to cook. There are hiking trails on the property which the little kids love. Plenty of room to let them run around and explore. The neighbors are a horse farm which makes for a nice evening stroll to look at the horses. Location is perfect especially if MTBing. We were riding the Ridgeline loop from the cabin. All of the DuPont access points are a very short drive. The entrance to Pisgah is a 15-20 minute drive.

Stayed May 31, 2024The location of this great cabin/house is so great for cycling & hiking at DuPont State Forest.(Also very convenient to Hendersonville, Brevard, Pisgah National Forest, Saluda and Mountain Bridges, with all the amazing scenery and outdoor activities those places offer.) The house and grounds are very comfortable, spacious, peaceful and interesting. Everything we needed was there. Kitchen's great. A couple of nice trails are right out the door, w/ a fun, challenging scavenger hunt that my grandsons (and their parents, (and I) all ) really enjoyed doing. Steve, the caretaker, downstairs is super friendly and helpful. The fire pit was a big hit, w/plenty of split wood available. (Don't forget marshmallows at Ingles!) I gave this 5 stars, but I do have a couple of reservations- BE VERY CAREFUL ON THE STAIRS! The bedrooms are all upstairs, and the stairwell has a uniquefalse landing with a wide 2nd-to-last step that can fool your brain into thinking you are at the bottom. I went down on that dang thing and had a pretty painful weekend, (even though I stayed upright on my bike all weekend.) Also, the wooden steps that lead out to the backyard fire pit area are more narrow than normal, so just be extra careful the first few times, turn on all the lights, (there are plenty.) Hopefully David, the owner, will remedy the steps/stair landing issues before someone gets expensive-hurt. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay and I would stay again!
