Our family had a very enjoyable time, plenty of room and we felt very much at home.We will return for sure.
Better than described. Loved being greeted by the barn cat and listening to the rooster. Took the pre arranged ranch tour. History all described by pictures in the downstairs bedroom. All decorated for Christmas. Very special place. Could not believe our luck in finding it online.
This woodsy homestead was perfect! Quiet woods, friendly farm animals…barn cat we especially loved! This house was super clean and comfortable, long with having great hosts!
Beautiful, fascinating, and comfortable home! We had a great time. Kevin and Ali were engaging and responsive hosts. The ranch tour and historical aspect of the house was a real “value added”! Thanks again.
Very enjoyable.
An extremely charming house, with great character!!!
This adorable historic cottage was the perfect home base for a Mom/Sisters getaway! Plenty of room, well equipped kitchen, surrounding ranch, animals and flora, as well as the great host made for a memorable few days!
This was one of the best vacations my family of four has had. Our host, Ali ,was amazing .The beautiful cottage was tastefully decorated and clean as a whistle. The welcome desserts of Shirley's cupcakes, were amazing. We liked them so much we had to go buy more in town. I fell in love with this place the minute I walked in. It is truly like stepping back in time but with modern amenities. My son's enjoyed the tree swing. The yak farm tour was the highlight of our trip. We learned so much while staying in Crossville about the history and the yaks. I enjoyed the sun porch and every room was so unique .We enjoyed the beautiful waterfall at Ozone Falls and horseback riding at Wildwood stables. We would love to come back.
A few friends and I booked a golf trip to the area and needed a place for all of us to stay when I came across this. It was amazing. Lots of historical pictures inside detailing the area and the property and it was so peaceful. Even saw a yak for the first time in my life, up close too. Because it was a golf trip we didn't have time to tour the yak farm or anything, but on the ride back we all agreed we'd like to go back and take the tour (and golf more of course). Absolutely exceptional, far exceeded our expectations.
Came down for a golf trip with some friends and were blown away by this property. The history of the area explained with pictures and descriptions, the decor of the interior was incredible. Wish we had time to tour the farm but planned the golf before finding a place to stay so we ran out of time. Absolutely recommend.
Beautiful historic homestead home on a Yak farm. Make sure you sign up in advance for the yak farm tour.
Second time here and will be back again next year! Top quality everything :) The beauty of the TN landscape and woods with the added history of the homestead plus the Yak Ranch makes for an unforgettable trip!
This is a beautiful property. Our host,Alli, decorated the homestead with such taste .We loved the comfy beds and sun porch. The rope swing was a favorite for my boys. The trails around the cottage were fun to explore. The tour of the Yak ranch was so fun and informative. We would love to go back.
We had a lovely stay. It was a perfect getaway complete with a tour of the Yak farm. The owner was very sweet and told us sll about the area and history of our cottage as well as educating us about yaks! We definitely recommend this cottage.
What a lovely rental... the house is full of history, complete with period furnishings, photos and plaques detailing how the home was built and the local folklore. The home was very clean, and the bedrooms were roomy and the beds so comphy. The kitchen was fully equipped and we even had farm fresh eggs. There was even a lovely flower garden. We were given a wonderful tour of the yak farm, a favorite cap to a very relaxing and fun getaway. We highly recommend this rental.
We had a very enjoyable experience at this property. It was just as depicted on the website. Rustic, beautifully furnished, and very comfortable. Viewing the yaks was a genuine thrill!
I cannot say enough about what an amazing place this is! Original cabin with lots of interesting local history, filled with antiques and items from times past. Hosts are wonderful! Accommodating, helpful, prompt and genuine good folks. The tour of the Yak farm on property was delightful and a one of a kind experience! Everything was pristinely clean and you can feel how much though went into everything from the decor of the space to the kind note and bottle of wine left as a welcome from the hosts upon arrival. This cabin is plenty big enough for a family and charmingly perfect for a couples getaway. Only a few miles to beautiful Cumberland State Park and plenty of golf in the area. Will definitely be staying again next time we’re in town!
Staying here feels like you dove back in time. It is so enriched in history and every detail is very accurate to the time. Animals were amazing to see out your window and all around the property. Couldn’t recommend this property more. Such a unique experience you couldn’t get anywhere else and the owners are great people!
