The location of this home was fantastic just a quick 5-minute walk down into town! The house was clean and had everything we needed. Parking is tight but we managed. The TV was the only issue could not figure that one out. Could not get anything to work with either remote but it was not a big deal for us as we had other things to do. All in all, it was a good stay, and I would recommend this home to others but maybe not with little ones due to all the antiques which seem to take over a bit of the space.
Upstairs shower was good Had some nice antiques but needed better seating for dining room, bench had nails coming up and better lighting, especially at nightstand. 25watt is not enough. Pictures showed outside chairs to view water but none were available. Better lighting in bedrooms would be nice .
The cottage was perfect! Location on the water and walkable to town was amazing. Loved the view from the living room. Bedrooms were simple and cozy. Furnishings and art was lovely, so many special coastal Maine vintage touches. Very charming place to stay. Would stay again!
The house was cute and in walking distance to everything in Booth Bay but it was in need of a deep cleaning, the patio furniture was broken, and the pillows as mentioned in other previous reviews were HORRIBLE. I reached out to the management company to let them know of all the issues and they said they’ll take care of them but who knows if they will since the pillows that were mentioned in previous reviews hadn’t been taken care of. IF the above items were taken care of I’d definitely recommend staying here again.
Rented this house for 4 nights. Spent hours of this vacation trying to communicate with Vacasa who is apparently located in CA. No local host. Not one of the issues that came up received service. The Vacasa operator gave us the wrong wifi code and basically said, Tough. There was no key to the boathouse. The Vacasa operator said that maybe it was not one of the benefits. Not according to the reviews I read. The bathtub, which was an essential part of securing this house for me, had a faulty stopper and did not work. The shower upstairs flooded the hallway/kitchen downstairs. There was no water on the bathroom floor, it is a pipe in the wall. Plumber never showed up though we waited all day for him. The glass lamps and shades were very dusty. Spoke with a handyman who was supposed to show up. He was sorry and said I should receive at least a partial refund for all our trouble and inconveniences. He was just hired and is in charge of 161 houses there at the seaside. Seems like this is just a corporate business. Pretty dismal first experience with VRBO. I have never received any response from VRBO or Vacasa.
We have stayed at Mill Cove Cottage during the winter season since 2017 and beyond love this cozy home and location. We are always so excited for this trip and it wasn't any different this time around. That being said, the home is in serious need of furniture upgrades on the first floor. The living-room chairs and sofa are old, stained and haven't been cleaned in a long time. The cushions are no longer firm on any of them, so they're in dire need of being replaced. As for the dining area, several chairs are either broken or need work. The majority of the seats are also short chairs for children, which doesn't help if you have a bunch of adults in the house. There is a long bench on one side that's unsafe. I sat down on the edge of it and almost flipped it. Bottom line, all the living room and dining-room furniture needs to be replaced. It's as simple as that. I am pretty sure it's all the same stuff that was there five years ago and there have been no changes. With the amount of money this home generates for the owners in the prime months, there is no reason these needed upgrades shouldn't happen. As much as we love this home, we are no open to stay at other BBH properties during our annual visit.
Love the charm of this house! The view out the back is perfect and it is so close to town! Cooking utensils, as well as pots and pans need updating and the sheets were very scratchy. Also, a grill out back would’ve been nice. Otherwise, I would’ve given it five stars.
Beautiful location bathrooms very clean wonderful view
