Newport, Rhode Island
Suite rental that sleeps 4
The Bliss Cottage room is located on the north side of downtown in the Broadway area. The energy in the house is peaceful and relaxing. The living room has a fireplace and large screen Smart television. The two bedrooms are clean and comfortable and there is a bathroom for each. Everyone enjoys their stay here because it just feels like home. Second floor bathroom is shared with owner who lives on premises.
There is a back yard and front and back porch for lounging.
The house was perfect for our group of 12. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep upstairs and we really enjoyed the big kitchen (fully equipped with all you would ever need), dining room, and living room for gathering all together. Location was an easy 5-10 minute drive to anything we wanted to do in and around Newport and walkable to a few things as well. We had an awesome stay here!
Had a great weekend in Newport! Thank you!
A group of friends recently stayed at Nicks property. The house is in a nice location. Only a 15 minute walk to downtown. There were lots of rooms and beds. At first glance we were excited about the house. Then we brought our food into the kitchen and noticed a lot of ants. We sprayed the bug spray left in the house but it didn’t help. When I reached out to Nick he told me to spray baseboards, windows and counters. I did that but the ants were still there. I don’t think that should be the responsibility of paying guests. Nick apologized but said he was out of town and his partner is anti pesticide. That’s not my problem. It’s obvious that this is an ongoing issue because any traps are all over the house. We had to go out and on our own purchase vinegar to wipe down everything. There were some ants found Upstairs as well. Not as many as in the kitchen but they were there. I reached out to Nick again after checking out to see if he would do anything to compensate for what we went through. His response was that he went to the house and it looked good. THis was not a relaxing vacation as planned. We couldn’t put out food and snacks. When we ate in the kitchen we held our plates so no ants would crawl on our food. We also had to eat out more than we planned. I understand things like this happen however I don’t understand why nobody was sent to the house to take care of the problem. On a side note the pictures on this listing showed a hot tub but there wasn’t one. Nick said it’s not on the listing. I suggested updating the photos so people are not misinformed. The reviews even mentioned a hot tub so I’m not sure what happened there. I’ve never left a bad review on any rental sight but I didn’t want others to go through what we went through.
Charming home with tons of space for a large group for a long weekend away! Located on a quiet street not too far from restaurants and shops
This was an adorable house to spend our weekend. It was cozy and clean and had plenty of room for the 8 of us to sleep comfortably and also hang around. It is perfectly located just near enough downtown to walk but not too close that there is any noise from traffic or people. It's old Victorian Charm only added to the experience.
We stayed here with a group of eight people. Great location for Newport--easily walk to shops, restaurants, bars, stores, etc. Older house and was very cold in the winter--we tried to keep the temperature up but it was just too drafty. It was so cold that the hot tub also froze and did not work. The property manager is very nice and helpful. He has plenty of material available to help you with your stay in Newport. All in all, great experience, nice house, perfect for large group gatherings or relaxing getaways.
We really enjoyed our experience at nicks home- it was close to different parts of town- approx 15 minute walks and there was plenty of kitchen supplies to cook, etc. nick was generous with grill and other elements of house and he was easy to communicate with! Thanks nick!
A group of 11 of us very much enjoyed staying at 10 Bliss Road. It was a convenient location for nearby activities and picking up groceries either by walking or uber/lyft. The house was cute and just the right size for us. Nick was very easy to get in contact with and responsive, he even made us cookies when we first arrived. There were no surprises when we arrived compared to what was detailed online. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, which was well supplied with pots and pans as well as spices. The hot tub was also a plus and we utilized the board games provided. Though we enjoyed our stay, we thought a couple of things could be improved. First, many of us had strong allergic reactions to the sheets or furniture, perhaps from the dust. Especially sleeping in the beds, many of us woke up with stuffy noses and swollen eyes. Second, the internet was very slow and streaming entertainment on the TV sometimes frustrating. Lastly, the fire alarm was overly sensitive the first night we stayed there and it was hard to figure out how to stop the alarm and we could not find instructions on how to do so. Perhaps that could be something put in the book of instructions provided (the bible). Overall, we had a great time at 10 Bliss Road and in Newport - it was the perfect spot for our vacation.
