My family loved this place for Christmas. It has everything we could want. You definitely need a good all wheel car to get to the house (especially when it's snowing). We had issues getting the front door code to work and spent some time on hold outside the house waiting to get in, otherwise check in was easy. Will recommend!!
The house is nice and is remote, so it is great location to get away from the city. Most all things that you need are supplied so there is little need to go back to town other than to stock the fridge with whatever you plan to cook. I liked that there are board games available as it really is nice to have interactive tasks rather than stare at a tv. There is a lot of space and beds available. Some things to keep in mind. - you will likely be at a higher elevation (a little more than 9k feet) so if you are not used to elevation, you make have an adjustment period. Drink lots of water, and don't over exert yourself. - In winter, the reservoir is closed - the roads leading to the house are not really bad in my opinion. There is a small stretch of uneven dirt road. I have a jeep - it is trivial. For reference, if you have a Subaru Outback, you will have no issue. If you have a Honda Civic, you will have to dodge a few bumps. Overall, I think the place is very nice and the price is reasonable. Thank you!
This home is exactly as shown in listing. Beautiful home. Gorgeous setting. Turkey, Foxes and Deer were on the property during our stay. Had a spectacular stay and will definitely come back.
Nice place with great location. Deer came by to visit mornings and evenings. House sleeps 8 but only 4 chairs for deck. A garage door opener would have been nice
Just know you will have a drive in front of you. Woodland Park is several minutes away and Manitou Springs is 20 minutes.
The drive into this neighborhood was stunning with a gorgeous view of Pikes Peak! Horse farms, beautiful homes, Aspen trees, you name it. The house itself was perfect with lots of space and a gorgeous wrap around deck. We enjoyed the cool breezes and lovely sunsets over the distant mountains. We even found a girl in the neighborhood to dogsit during our hikes. It was wonderful! Kitchen was large and had everything you need. We had a Honda Civic that dragged botton on the driveway so you may need just a tad more clearance. But the car handled the gravel roads just fine this summer. Wonderful place to stay!
The home is contemporary, spacious, well maintained, clean, and stocked nicely. It is tucked away high on a mountain, so it is somewhat of a challenge to get to. As long as you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and don’t mind very steep and winding dirt roads, you will make it there. Fits 7-8 people very comfortably. Perfect area of Colorado to visit, lots of things to do and see within 35 mile radius. Also good service. We had a small issue with the dishwasher and no propane for the grill and both issues were resolved very quickly. Thank you for a wonderful trip!
We highly recommend this house, and cannot wait to stay here again!! We rented this house for a girls weekend. Not only is the view from the house breathtaking, it was extremely clean, cozy and spacious! The owners really paid attention to every detail! The house is fully stocked- bathrooms had plenty of towels, travel sized toiletries and even an extra blow dryer! The rooms had a ton of pillows extra blankets, and extra space heaters- and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had every thing you could need and more- along with coffee and basic condiments. We ran into a couple simple issues with pilot lights that we were able to resolve ourselves, but when I called they responded immediately, were very kind, and were ready to help at a moments notice. Also, learn from my mistake and do not take the 4 wheel drive requirement lightly… I ended up buying tire chains to get up the driveway and road… it is VERY steep! Thank you for putting so much love into this home, we cannot wait to be back!
