It was a comfortable stay, but there were hiccups. First starting with the front door striker plate being busted. And the back sliding door left unlocked upon arrival. After talking with customer service numerous times via phone & text, it was not resolved while we stayed there. The maintenance man came during our late checkout that we paid for around 11am while we were trying to leave (final late check out is at 2pm). Then the footer of the dining room bench was busted. It had exposed screws and was not stable and the coffee table having a busted part too. Some stashed away kitchen items were dirty and greasy (cutting boards & pots/pans). But! With that said, this place was super comfortable, it ws New Years and there has to be some understanding on all things. PLUS Vasa offered us a $125 credit. We have already booked another trip and hope this next one will go smoother.
The property was excellent! We would stay here again but there’s a few improvements that would make this even better. 1) the dishwasher was not installed properly. It came out of its opening when we opened the door. 2) No food storage of any kind that we could find. No plastic bags or Tupperware or anything. 3) No ice trays. 4) Overhead lights flickered. They’re on a dimmer switch so I assume they just had non dimmable bulbs.
Black Butte Ranch is beautiful and offers activities for the entire family. Note that the resort fee is not covered by the rental and must be paid separately. We watched deer, birds, and wild turkeys from the large windows in the main room. The four bunk twin beds in one bedroom worked well for us.
very pleasant home, easy driving access to pool and activities
We had wonderful stay. The cabin was stocked with all the essentials and we enjoyed the hearth-fire every night. One thing to note is that guests should bring extra towels for enjoying the pool at the Black Butte facilities.
We had a lvoely visit to BBR. We checked in on Christmas eve, and there was a delay with having the property ready, which was communicated in advance by the property mgmt company. Our only problems were in accessing the firewood, as the shed was locked, but the propert mgmt company dropped off a number of bundles for us-- thank you for that! The other issue of not having enough enough toilet paper, trash bags, or a dish sponge to do dishes with was also remedied by the mgmt company about 24 hours after our request, which was appreciated.
The house is comfortable, kitchen well stocked, bathrooms fully supplied. We hit a cold spell and the heat worked well. The main issue was housekeeping. We knowingly selected a dog friendly property. But as soon as we all walked in, we got dog hair on our clothes. It wasn't from our own dog, a non-shedding breed. My son checked the great room sofa to see if it pulled out and discovered an archeological dig under the cushions. The entryway was icy, which made unloading our cars a challenge. Written instructions on a blackboard were helpful, except the firewood wasn't to be found where we were told. So, please, just spend a little more time updating and cleaning. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the amenities at the Black Butte club house.
Great location, beautiful views, lovely house. Loved the spacious, open feel of the home. All appliances worked well and house was well equipped for what we needed.
We loved this house! it has such a great vibe. the fireplace and the big window seating adds such great atmosphere to the house. perfect place for a relaxing geta-away.
Clean and a great view. We feel right at home.
Great location and venue.
We frequent BBR a couple times a year and I always like to try different properties. Location was great and quiet, house was what we expected and was stocked fairly well...maybe a couple more bowls for mixing and an 8x8 square baking pan, but now I'm getting picky. Air conditioning was a life saver and beds were comfortable.
Best aspects: 1) woodsy setting - shady, feels in the trees 2) large and pleasant back deck, fantastic for evening relaxing and barbecuing, 3) pet friendly and overall a comfortable easy-going place, 4) nice queen-sized beds, 5) handy setup that allows opening most windows while they remain screened. The living room was comfy. I felt this was a comfortable vacation home for nice relaxation. Some others in our large family reunion booked bigger fancier places, which were nice yet maybe not as easy vacation comfortable. My family member with a dog did not join us. The place was clean but the carpet showed some evidence of pet use (no biggie for us). We experience some relatively minor maintenance issues.
Incredible location near Paulina Springs and Aspen Lake, comfortable space for 4 adults and 4 young children, amazing windows and window seat looking out at nothing but trees. Our 6-year-old said it was “the best vacation I’ve ever been on,” and our 2-year-old said “I want to stay in this house forever!” Such a wonderful stay. Thank you!
