Lovely “Salt Shaker” is one spicy saltbox-style beach home. Carefully positioned on quiet Wimble Shores Drive, “Salt Shaker” takes advantage of the expansive north views of the wetlands and an extra-large salt pond. The safe walk to the ocean takes about 5 minutes - trust us: the kids will dig it. The ground level has a full concrete living area with great parking and access to a large locking storage room (bikes not included), an outdoor rain head shower, and a fish station. There are a hammock and swing on the ready. A front east-facing porch is well furnished. Inside is a homage to clever and comfy beach decorating. The living area has a tall, elevated ceiling, and is well furnished with long sectional chairs, a TV with a DVD player, and a Bluetooth stereo. The well-equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances, a breakfast bar, and a farm sink, plus super access to a screened porch for al-fresco meals at the dining table.
The first bedroom has two twin beds, a flatscreen TV with a DVD player, and private access to a full hallway bath with a rain shower head. The laundry room has full-size machines. Upstairs, the second bedroom has a full bed and a Romeo and Juliet south-facing sundeck. The third bedroom includes a queen bed and shares a Jack-and-Jill full bath with the second bedroom. The third bedroom also has access to an extra-large furnished north-facing sundeck with expansive views of the water and the wetlands. You just may find this deck to be your go-to morning coffee spot.

The Salt Shaker has a decent kitchen and close proximity to the beach but seriously needs some updated furniture and a cleaner vibe. The entire downstairs smelled musty from the dirty couch and there were stains on it and most of the fabric furniture. The TV and cable were also not hooked up when we arrived and we had to do it ourselves. There was also a screen door on the back porch broken, I assume from tropical storm winds but even after reporting it our first evening, nothing was done to fix it. Will not be staying here again.
Nice house on a more secluded street with a nice view over a pond and easy access to beach and some useful stores. Worked great for a family of 5.
Enjoyed the house, well provided kitchen. Comfortable beds. Simple and nice. Enjoyed screened in porch and close walk to private beach area.
We had a great stay! Everything was great. Only issue is the Dry duck needs to be checked and cleaned. It’s clogged and dryer leaves tons of lent after. Thanks!
The place showed its age but, it was comfortable without being costly. We had rain and wind yet we were comfortable inside. Compliant? Get rid of that sofa unit.
I chose this place because of the proximity to the beach, and that was about the only plus to the house. The house is in desperate need of a deep cleaning. I didn’t feel comfortable being in the house. It was very dirty and not taken care of. The couch was very nasty and I cringed every time my kids sat on it. When we first walked in I found a coach roach in the room my kids were sleeping in. The tub did not drain so we had to stand in dirty water while showering. The floor was disgusting. I don’t think the house has been cleaned in a year besides things being wiped down. When I called beforehand to find out what the kitchen was stock with, I was given inaccurate information.
The house was clean and comfortable and me, my husband and 22 and 18 year old sons, as well as our dogs had the best vacation ever. Everything you need for a vacation was thought of in this home and we couldn’t be happier with our choice to stay here. The photo of the owners and their own personal touches including the guest book to sign, where we could visualize other families having truly made us feel welcome and like we were at home! We will be back again!
Very clean, cute and cozy. Perfect for a small family and their dog.
I loved all the outdoor spaces to read! Not fancy or super cute, but a short easy, safe walk to the beach. The hammock was damaged and they fixed it right away. Would stay again.
Overall we had a great time staying at this house. The kitchen is fully stocked with tools, but zéro spices. There are beach toys, chairs, and umbrellas available for use. There is a charcoal grill even though the listing doesn't mention it, we ended up bringing our propane camping grill. The house is located on a private street with beach access. It's about a 5 minute walk, 10 if you have young kids. When we arrived we noticed how loud the a/c unit was and towards the end of our week at the Salt Shaker we noticed that the a/c stopped blowing cold air. Because of the layout of the house and the skylights, it got hot quick. We called the local property manager and he took note, but did not offer to fix it while we were there. We called again and asked for temporary window units and he agreed to bring them over to give us some relief for the last night. They helped bring the house down to about 80º.
