I have renewed this house twice. Itโs a great spot within walking distance of the plaza. We like the minimal calm the home brings. Itโs in a friendly dog neighborhood as well. I would change one thing and itโs the doors to the rooms that need fixing. Other than that this is a great inviting home. I would recommend this house to my friends and family.
I rented this with two other friends while we visited Santa Fe. It was a wonderful location with built in comfort. It was peaceful and calm in a quiet neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again. The only draw back was that the doors were a little older and in need of alignment. In the second bathroom the door would not close. Outside of the doors this place is a total gem and the company that manages it is one of the best. Thank you for a great way to begin the new year.
We stayed there for 10 days and the first entire week was so frustrating. 1) The lockbox code for the key was incorrect and took days for us to get the correct code. Also the lockbox was hanging in a tree and very difficult to find. Since we couldnโt open the lockbox to get a key, we had to use a really long numerical code to open the door EVERY TIME we came in or out of the house. Even then, the long code only worked maybe 20% of the time. 2) housekeeping didnโt leave enough towels. The large towels for your body were HORRIBLE. They did not soak up water or get you dry. AND they left fuzz all over you. We even washed them a few times to see if that would help, but it didnโt. We had to go buy our own towels. 3) this is a dog friendly property. The last person staying there must have had a really large dog because there were huge piles of poop inside the gated fence and all up the driveway by the back door. It was so gross. 4) the water in the bathroom sink was brown for TWO DAYS. It was unusable. We had to brush teeth with bottled water. 5) the water in the kitchen sink was disgusting. Even our dog wouldnโt drink it. We tried to boil pasta and it tasted terrible. Then we boiled another batch with bottled water and it was fine. 6) On day 3 of staying there, and awful smell began to develop in the kitchen. After a few days and lots of cleaning/looking around, we found an old rotten piece of fruit behind a drawer in the fridge. The property manager was responsive and sent someone out to pick up the dog poop. She said she submitted a request for a partial discount for all of our troubles but I never received it. Iโve stayed at a lot of rental type places instead of hotels over the years and, while the house was cute, it was not comfortable. I do not recommend staying here if you plan on cooking, using water or using their towels.
This home has everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable. Home is located in a lovely neighborhood close to everything. We enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at Don Gaspar's retreat! The house is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. It is in a great location in a quiet neighborhood but only a short walk to downtown Santa Fe. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone!
