Best part of stay was location. The carpet was badly stained and dingy and I received several bites on my feet and ankles. The hosts requested you remove your shoes at the door. The loveseat is terribly worn out. The TV/cable was out of service. Only one coffee package provided and no sugar or creamer.
We loved the size of the cabin and having a separate bedroom with a door was an unexpected bonus. No complaints on the interior..however, the tv wouldn’t change channels and it wouldn’t allow hooking up my Roku or fire stick so no tv/movies but the absolute biggest problem we encountered was trying to get into our cabin. An hour long nightmare truthfully. Anyway, we arrived at 10:30 am and couldn’t figure out our room because the code didn’t work in any of the 3 so I called the management company. I was then given another 2 codes..none of the 3 worked so we were told that someone would have to come let us in..but they didn’t know when that would be. It’s now 11:30, our dog sitter has arrived, I still haven’t changed or ANYTHING and we have to catch our private charter at 1 because today, in about an hour and a half, we’re getting married at sea. So, to say I wasn’t pleased is quite an understatement. Thank the Lord, the owner, who happened to be on-site for another matter, saved the day..and my wedding. So, even after the no tv/check in nightmare, we will be thrilled to rent there again and we already plan too..on our anniversary.
Nice little cabin. Quiet. Was disappointed that the other two units had new grills and the one I was in had a rusted out unit and the outside was in need of repair. The couch had holes in it and the inside needed attention. The bed was wonderful.
Location was the only good part of the stay. Carpet is very stained and should be replaced with hard flooring as hosts request you take your shoes off at the door. TV / cable service was not functioning and hosts were notified and did nothing to resolve the issue. There was one pack of coffee in the room but no sugar, creamer, etc…
Very clean and nice place to stay.
Ocen view from the deck. Walking distance to downtown and sea wall and restaurants.
We previously stayed at the unit on far left, which we really enjoyed. this unit needs carpet replaced BADLY as well as the couch. It was horrible. the room smelled like wet dog as we walked in and was damp. there was damage to the blinds by some prior guests' dog and the couch cushion as well as the door frame to bedroom. I was disappointed with this unit.
Enjoyed our stay here. There were some issues but nothing that impacted us unduly. (Ripped couch cushion with the stuffing coming out - maybe from a previous guest's dog, as we had no animals; broken blinds with tooth marks, ditto the dog; the bedroom window screen was bent enough to let insects in.) The couch is not comfortable and needs replacing - it's a loveseat, so a two-seater, and both cushions sag inward so it's not comfortable for either one or two people to sit on. It was nice to have a mini-fridge and microwave in the unit. Other than the sagging couch and tired carpet, everything was fine - and we weren't overly impacted by either the couch or carpet, in fairness. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Depoe Bay.
I don't often write a review, unless it's something incredible or so awful I feel the need to warn others. This place is absolutely NOT dog friendly! I'm a dog trainer and prior Military Working Dog handler. My dogs know how to use the bathroom with a command for these types of situations, no where to go that's appropriate, but my dog was so stressed out due to this area that she refused to go for 18 hours! You must leave the property, go to a parking lot across the road and you'll find gravel with some dirt, that's all covered in poison oak and thorn bushes. This is the place they expect your dog to go use the bathroom. This also means there's literally no where for a dog to play and the room is TINY again, no room for a dog unless it's little. Which brings me to parking. Unless you drive a compact car you won't fit. It's a steep hill, with a sharp turn in and no space. I drive a truck, we could pull in and park if no other cars were in there and if we needed out same deal. There's road parking, but the street is very narrow like all Oregon coast streets. My truck got dinged thanks to this and it's a brand new vehicle. The room itself was dirty, the carpet is stained dirty brown/grey, some other dog chewed up the blinds leaving a nice peep hole into the living room for others, the bed was okay. We had no choice to stay our first night, as I had to officiate a wedding in the morning. The second the wedding was over we packed up and went home. Vacasa refuses to refund!!
Please change the carpet; it's hideous. Put in LVP or worst case scenario linoleum flooring, but carpet must go. Thank you! Vladimir
Very convenient location, nice one bedroom “apartment” size with small bedroom and full bathroom, only a small refrigerator and microwave for the “kitchen” but that’s ok for a short stay. I would recommend the Captain’s Quarters for the location, value and view of the ocean and the deck area with bbq is an added bonus!
It’s got an ocean view, a lovely deck, lots of hot water and a bathtub, a comfy bed! Dog friendly! I love that. I recommend the stay ??
Seeing whales from the porch.
This rental is in a great location. Just know that there is no kitchen in them even though the description said there is. There is only a mini fridge and microwave.
This is a super nice little place. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean and has plenty of room. The parking is challenging but doable. The little love seat is in need of replacing. It is so small and has a weird stretchy fabric cover that pulls up and makes the seat good for only one person. Maybe 2 chairs would work better? We brought in one of the deck chairs so both of us had a place to sit. The TV seemed to only get local channels, but that didn’t really bother us, a guide of the channels available would be nice though. Overall we had a great time!
3 rooms (bed, bath, living) makes the space feel larger than it is. Definitely meant for 2 people or less though. Room was clean and well done.
Close, convenient and cozy. Just what we needed!
Watch the whales spout from the Adirondack chairs on the porch. Warm, cozy, clean, doggie-friendly. Wonderful stay for 2!! Reasonably priced. Just do it, you’ll love it!!
This cottage was a nice quiet place for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. Very close walking distance to the Oceanside and all the shops. They have an electric grill where we made steaks in view of the ocean. While they allow dogs the one real downside was the overwhelming smell of wet dog.
