We rented for nine days over Christmas and arrived to find that the owners had put up Christmas decoration and a tree for us! It is a great setting, plenty of room and it feels like home the minute you walk into it. There was a new grill and plenty of kitchen appliances for our preparing our holiday meals. We were six adults and two small children (three generations) so the downstairs was ideal for the parents with our grandchildren. I would recommend without reservation to anyone looking for a true Northwoods holiday. Thank you!
We really enjoyed staying at Loonsight! Weather was chilly and rainy much of the time, but the home is comfortable for cooking, relaxing, playing games, etc. we loved having ability to dock a boat and short drives to lots of hiking locations and town. Most of all, it was great to have our dog with us for the stay. Only area of improvement would be that the lower level a bit musty (mildew?) so didn’t spend much time down there.
The property is very much as described. The location is simply amazing. It is secluded and also has easy access to less secluded places like the Lakeside Bar. The lakeside shed with so many water toys was incredible. We paddleboarded, kayaked and floated all day! The wildlife, especially the bald eagles were so beautiful! The description said no grill, but there was one when we arrived which we used a lot. The home can accomodate many people with the downstairs so livable. Having two fridges is a huge plus. We have already booked again for next July which is probably the best review we can give:) Allie, the property manager, and David, the handyman, were so responsive to some plumbing issues with one of the toilets. Jen, who was still cleaning when we arrived, worked really hard to get it cleaned for us. Allie gets special kudos for really being on top of things and making us feel very welcome. She went above and beyond. Just a few things could make it even better. The adirondack chairs by the beach are getting dangerous (not sturdy, coming apart, visible nails). Maybe some resin adirondack chairs would be better?? I listened to the reviews that said the cabin was dark. There isn't a lot of overhead lighting. I brought lamps which helped especially at the dining room table for the evening hours. There wasn't firewood which was different from other places we've rented. We found some, but would have liked to have known this upfront. Also, knowing the dishwasher wasn't working would have helped us plan for more paper goods. Overall, this place is really incredible. We would highy recommend!
Nice house but the furniture was not the very best and beds were adequate at best also it needs some better lighting inside as It kind of reminded me of a funeral parlor the property manager and staff were very attentive to our needs definitely on there game! There also was no gas grill or outside furniture to sit on but a couple of camping chairs! Would have given it 5 stars with a few updates else wise.
We used the home for a 9 day X-Country ski vacation. Its location makes it a short drive to many groomed ski-trail systems (Raven, Scheldt, Madeline and McNaughton to name a few). The well equipped kitchen and the large dining room table worked really well for large meals for 8 people. Lots of very useable spaces for family to spread out. Many of the furnishings (chairs especially) were a bit worn but it worked pretty well with the Northwoods vibe. However there were some quirks that prevented us from given the home a 5 star rating: the toilets are plumbed with hot water so anyone taking a shower get a very cold shock when any of the toilets are flushed, sink water is run or if the dish washer or washer are filling, the kitchen floor is extremely noisy/squeaky it will wake anyone up that is sleeping in the bedroom below, running water anywhere in the house is also very noisy, there is no overhead lightening for the dining room table (made playing games very difficult at night), most rooms are dimly lit with low wattage soft white lightening except for one of the lower bedrooms which has numerous bright white florescent fixtures. The driveway and sidewalk had several inches of snow when we arrived, after a heavy snow storm mid-week we waited a few hours in the morning expecting a plow - the over 3 foot snow berm at the road edge was not drivable. After talking with several Vacasa staff we were assured a snow plow would be arriving in the next 15 minutes. We lost almost he entire day of skiing since they didn't arrive until 3:30 in the afternoon.
Lovely large lakehouse, fully outfitted for family gatherings.
We really enjoyed our Wisconsin get away. Very nice cozy home in the Northwoods. Enjoyed the book selection, fireplace, and outdoor deck overlooking the lake. Did some local shopping and dining. Wonderful trailheads and easy walking path.
Place was super nice. Only one queen bed not two as listed Grill needs replacing. Took long time to start and one of three burners was broke off. Did heat up enough to cook burgers. Could use a light of some kind above kitchen table . Very hard to see cards. Would recommend . Very roomy
Really enjoyed Loonsight. Beautiful house set back in the woods. The bay was quiet and peaceful.
We loved that we felt tucked away on lake tomahawk, didn’t think that was possible. Lots of privacy. Enough beds for everyone and plenty of space both indoors and out. Canoe, kayak and swim pad was put to good use. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.
