Auburn, New York
This well stocked waterfront Owasco Lake home with central air has a wonderful open floor plan great for entertaining. It's got a nice comfortable feeling with spacious bedrooms and a large kitchen and dining area overlooking the bright blue waters of Owasco Lake. Decks on the house and the beach provide nice views of the lake as well. The east side location provides afternoon sun and gorgeous sunsets! The swimming area is crystal clear and weed free with 50’ of beachfront. A gradual walk out into the water is great for kids and adults alike. Fishing is excellent for walleye, trout, bass, pike and perch.
The family was able to do a bit of hiking and kayaking everyday from this great location.
The place was perfect place to get away for my mom’s 60th birthday! Snuggly fit 10 adults (ideally would fit 8 comfortably) with our blow up bed we brought. Exactly as pictured! Right on the water with a great deck down by the water but quite a steep set of steps to get there if there are any mobility issues. Close to skaneatles and auburn if wanting to explore the towns! Christine was great, responsive and flexible with us checking in a little early!
Good place I. Will come back again
Nice accomodations; very responsive hosts; stairway to lower deck and the block structure below the deck could use a little work.
Very relaxing stay. House accommodations were great for our family and lake access and views were tremendous.
I rented this property close to Emerson Park where there was a wedding. I went with a group of friend from out of state. The home was warm and homey with the most relaxing view of the lake. We watched the sunsets from the deck above the water. Chrisitne was responsive and helpful. We had never been to the area and it was a great spot for our long weekend. You will not be disappointed in your stay here.
Met some friends here for the weekend, such a nice location. We enjoyed the decks and the kayak, great kitchen for a group. House is older, cozy, and well stocked. Very quiet neighborhood. Would stay again, for sure.
Our group was in the area for a quick birthday get away. House is nice, owner was amazing and responsive. Perfect quiet location for a get away
This place meets all the noted qualities. The house even older, has all one needs. The large table and another round table in the kitchen was utilized daily for meal preps. There are two downstairs bedrooms, double and king along with a downstairs full bath. There's a bath upstairs with a garden tub that went unused as we all prefer showers and there is a tub shower in the downstairs bathroom. The livingroom has two full sofas and a nice leather chair, carpeted and roomy for the kids to stretch out on for TV watching. The deck on the house has a nice sized grill, table and several chairs. The fire pit was a nice touch for roasting marshmallows and sitting around it observing the great lake view. And the sunsets are spectacular! The stairs to the water are fine. Just taking it slowly, hanging on the rails is key. My family enjoyed the water and the ease of getting in and out. There are no unexpected drop offs, just perfect for everyone. We did take our own floating noodles, adding fun to lake play. Overall we had all we needed and wanted. Being able to walk to the water from the house is HUGE. I'd recommend this place to anyone. The manager is prompt in responding and there's plenty of parking.
First, I’d like to say that Christine, the property manager, was excellent – responsive and helpful. The property was as listed but several things could have been improved upon and were less that top notch. The towels and linens were old and thin. The lower deck was very nice but the railings on the stairs and lower deck were rickety. There was a laminated warning sign on the upstairs tub about how to gently use the handle as it was very easy to break. There were no games, books or entertainment things for the guest to use. The bushes and trees at the end of the yard were overgrown and greatly restricted what would have been a lovely view of the lake. Some other things to be aware of - there is a dock but the water is very shallow (1.5 ft. when we were there) and not deep enough to park a pontoon boat without great difficulty and risk of damaging the propellor. The spa tub is difficult to get in and out of and there is no curtain if you were using the hand sprayer as a shower. The bed in the one bedroom is a double (not a queen) which is something we missed in the listing. And overall, the mattresses had seen better days. All that said we had a very enjoyable time. Owasco Lake is lovely and not very busy. The home was comfortable and with most everything in working order. We were only 5 minutes from a great ice cream place (Tom Thumbs) and the towns of Auburn and Skaneateles were close with shops, restaurants and small museums to visit. The only other comment about the location is that the home is not close to many of the wineries in the Finger Lakes. Anyela’s Vineyards which was very good is 15-20 minutes away but it is a 45-minute drive to most of the rest.
We stayed at this property with two families including three children under 8. Owasco lake is beautiful and it is a short drive to Skaneateles lake too. Property has a very well kept yard and a small beach that is great for kids. We enjoyed using the two kayaks. The home has everything needed for cooking and grilling. Very much enjoyed our stay.
Place is great. Kitchen well appointed. Communication with host was beyond excellent. Highly recommend.
