Mugla, Mugla
They say location is everything.. Set in the small village of Gokbel in the foothills outside Dalyan with stunning views across the valley to the lake, beach, sea and a backdrop of mountains - the villa definitely has the wow factor in an oasis of peace and relaxation.
The small village of Gokbel is very much considered the jewel in the crown on this beautiful coastline not only by visitors but also by the locals.
Whilst traditionally built the villa has a modern spacious feel with the double bedrooms opening out onto a large balcony that runs across the width of the villa and gives gated access to the private swimming pool
The downstairs is one large open plan area with spacious kitchen, dining table for 8 and two sitting areas with french doors opening onto the S/W facing veranda with its great view across the valley
Outside there is a barbecue, separate covered seating area and shower. A terraced garden with a selection of fruit trees, pick white mulberries to put on your muesli - yummy
You may find it convenient to hire a car or scooter
Sleeping 6 this fully air conditioned villa with its private pool is an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. The original conversion of Cicek Evi was undertaken in 2007 using local craftsmen and materials This is our home it has not been built as a commercial venture, hopefully offering comfortable, spacious accommodation in an outstanding location..
The double bedrooms open out onto a large balcony that runs across the width of the villa and gives gated access to the swimming pool. The downstairs is one large open plan area with a spacious kitchen, dining table for 8 people and two sitting areas; a stone fire place for a cosy autumn evening. French doors open out onto the S/W facing veranda which mirrors the balcony. To sit, drink in hand and watch the glorious sunsets hmmm.
Outside there is a barbecue, separate covered seating area, sun loungers an outside shower and terraced garden with a selection of fruit trees including white mulberries, pomegranates, lemons, oranges and grapes.
Dalyan is situated on a pretty reed river in a conservation area famous for the loggerhead turtle and Iztuzu beach - visitors come back year after year, it is very special offering sea, lake, good food, and very friendly locals.
The season can spread well into November although most of the tourists have gone by then. February I have swum in the sea and the wild flowers are lovely. April and May are the best for the orchards of oranges/grapefruit and lemons and September/October they are picking pomegranates. May the turtles are laying their eggs, which are carefully protected.
The property is about a 25 minute drive from Dalaman airport on very quiet roads easy to find with google maps. First thing that hits you is the stunning view out to sea over the lake. Three very good size bedrooms, 2 doubles and 1 with 2 singles, lots of bathrooms, big kitchen and living room, air con everywhere. The owner said the wi-fi would be poor but when we starting using our own Amazon fire adapter for it we never had any problem with signal or strength and there were shops all over Ortaca for topping up the Turkcell number on the box. We had problems with TV signal but we had downloaded lots of films in advance so didn't bother us at all plus there is a DVD player. All good in the kitchen, washing machine, oven, dishwasher. Swimming pool fantastic and nice temperature, not cold and not hot, surrounded by flowers. Didn't see any mosquitos. Did see some cats occasionally outside but gave them a wider berth after some flea bites. It is extremely peaceful location in a small village so wise to turn up with some essentials (bit of water, milk, fairy, dishwasher tabs and toilet roll - only 1/3rd of a toilet roll present in the villa when we arrived, quickly fought over by our teenagers !). First morning the maintenance company checked we were OK and to sell us some boat trips! We did take one (£270 for a private boat to Ekincik bay with all food included) and it was the best thing we did all holiday, really relaxing, great swimming locations, amazing BBQ. Great holiday
We spent a week here in early July . The villa is spacious with numerous outdoor terraces & seating areas from which you can enjoy the incredible view. The pool is excellent & is in the sun most of the day . Would highly recommend!
Great villa, very well equipped, quiet location with wonderful views. A few issues in the area with some villas being knocked down meant a few noisey early wake ups and a bit of demolition waste on the side of the roads. None of this affected us but to some it may have caused a bit of upset, The villa owners were great and did worn us about demolitions but to be fair they didn't really have much prior knowledge themselves. We had 10 lovely relaxing days in Turkey, the views from the villa are fantastic, lovely to wake up and sit on the balcony just looking out. The pool is the perfect size and the villa is very spacious. Some of the recommendations were not open but we did visit during the pandemic so that was to be expected. We would not hesitate to recommend the villa and the support from the agents and owner was superb. A car is essential. The food in the area was lovely and everywhere we went the people were very welcoming.
One of the loveliest villas we have ever stayed in, a wonderful sense of space, peace and privacy. Virginia was really helpful with information about the local area and we loved Asi beach as well as the boat trips from Dalyan. Would highly recommend this villa and we hope to return one day- thank you.
We stayed at Cicek Evi from the 14th-28th June and if I could give this property more than 5 stars I would., it's paradise. Lovely, spacious property and gorgeous pool/gardens which both inside and out was spotlessly clean. The location is idyllic and the views breathtaking from all sides. Virginia was brilliant and couldn't help enough, with answers to my numerous questions and really helpful advice on restaurants etc. It was many years since we last visited Dalyan (always a favourite with us.) To us Turkey beats the Greek Islands hands down. The friendliness of the Turkish people, the food, the nature of the place - I could go on and on. Cicek Evi is the best villa we have ever stayed in, so much so that we are planning a return visit next year. Thank you so much Virginia for letting us use your beautiful home.
