Great view

The house was great and had plenty of space for our family of five. The sound was amazing! Having never been to Dauphin Island, we didn’t fully know what to expect, but the sand was soft, the water was amazing to wade or swim. Sitting on the back deck, listening to the waves and birds was breathtaking, and we saw dolphins out there every day. Though we often drove down to the bridge or east end of the island, it was nice being at the west end and being able to walk that beach for miles. Highly recommend this house for a low-key, relaxing trip.

The home had everything we needed for our stay. It is in a perfect location. You can go out back to the bay or cross the street in the front for the gulf. We walked down to West End Beach several times. We loved staying at Czech Mate

We had a great time! The house is very clean and the location is great. It is all the way on the West End beach side. You can cross the street for beach access, a very simple walk. Or go out the back porch to the bay side. The house has a stocked kitchen full of everything you'd need. The TV in the living room has steaming services. The owners are very kind and communicative. Can't wait to come back!

I am so glad we were able to make Czech Mate our home for a few days of rest and relaxation. It's a lovely place, super clean, and had everything we needed. I was especially grateful for the slow cooker so I could put a few ingredients in it in the morning and have dinner all ready in the evening. We enjoyed the kayaks and beach area and watching movies in the evening.

The hosts were awesome to work with and very responsive. GreatLocation and the house was clean and fully stock. We loved our stay and will be back again.

The house was great and had everything that you need. We also enjoyed being close to the West End Beach.

My wife, dog and I stayed at Czech Mate over New Years. The house is beautiful and clean. Our dog loved swimming in the bay. The front and rear porches are excellent places to relax with a coffee and listen to the waves crash.

We enjoyed this house. Lots of games and puzzles .. wonderful Location. Sound and sea steps away.

When we entered Czech Mate it was even better than the photos! It’s very clean; decorated nicely; the temperature was set at 70 with the quiet ceiling fans going; beautiful views of the Gulf from the front windows and the Bay from the back windows and doors. The couch and loveseat were perfect for me to sit on while reading when it rained. My husband loved the recliner. The beds we slept in were comfortable; the ceiling fan in the Gulf side queen bedroom is quiet and positioned to keep the bed cool at night (so important to a woman of a certain age, lol!). I loved seeing the all the books although I was reading one already on my Kindle.The outside shower is located perfectly on the lower stairs, so you don’t have to walk in the sand again from under the house after using it. We were there 8 nights and had no issues at all - there were plenty of bath and kitchen towels; even beach towels although we’d brought our own; nice pots and pans and plenty of dishes and silverware. I appreciated the list of restaurants on the fridge with closed days noted. We LOVED being able to walk to the nice private beach on the Bay side (my and the dogs favorite). It was nice to enjoy the waves and view on the Gulf side also (thank you Molly for the map that eliminated confusion about where we could sit!). We kayaked one day and it was amazingly peaceful and beautiful paddling up to West Beach - we even saw 2 dolphins! Sitting in the swing under the house was nice too. Great house!

Very nice house and right on the beach. Host was very sweet and helpful. Place was very clean. Still having the post vacation blues having to leave Czech Mate. Dauphin Island was very relaxed when we went post labor day(perfect for us), but plenty to do for a 5 day stay.

We loved everything about your place. We felt it was clean and very homey. The pictures are better in person and would highly recommend staying here again.

We had an amazing time at Czech mate. Our group ranged from 4-40 and a great time was had by all. Nothing lacked at this property. Kids enjoyed all the games, kayaks and even caught blue crabs with the trap. The property was clean, and spacier than we anticipated. the bay side that the house backs up too was perfect for our group. We had the full beach experience without ever walking over to the gulf side. We even watched dolphins just past the oyster cages on several occasions. Fishing was also great for the kids. Only complaint is the trip went by too fast… would recommend 10/10

We absolutely loved the house. The floor plan is amazing with Gulf and/or Bay views from all major rooms. The description is accurate then some! The swings under the house catch the gulf breeze and are very enjoyable. Both porches offer spectaculars views and plenty of seating. Plenty of utensils for meal prep in the kitchen. The living area is spacious and bright. Both bathrooms are spacious. The house was clean and organized. The first couple of days we had rain showers. It was very relaxing. We enjoyed those rainy days very much.We loved the location of the house. A very short walk to the Bay as well as the Gulf. Both areas have nice beaches for setting up a canopy and beach chairs. We set up beachside between 2 neighboring houses. The shelling is absolutely amazing. Piles of beautiful offerings from the Gulf. We were there the week of July 4th and our area was not at all crowded. We were a short drive from restaurants and gift shops. We sat on the front porch and watched the fireworks. We will stay again. It was the perfect beach house. Side note…my personal favorite were the books. Shelves of books. I read 2 while we were there. Perfect summer reads! We highly recommend Chech Mate!! 2922 was perfect in so many ways. 4 bedrooms off a decent sized living area; a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. The rooms were tastefully and comfortably appointed. I particularly appreciated comfortable chairs and reading lights. Front and back porches had chairs and pillows and became gathering places. Gates available on the porches to restrain small children or dogs. And kayaks!Our teenage boy said his bed was a little harder than he was used to but other than that! Owners were great to communicate with. Fun time had by all, especially watching sunsets and lightning storms.

The property was beautiful. Even better than the pictures show. The gates on the deck were the winning feature with two 3 year olds and the dogs. Overall excellent place and stay. 10/10 would stay here again.

We have a large family and this rental suited us perfectly. The location was great--felt secluded but also close to public beach, and your own beach too if you wanted. We'd definitely come back again!

The property was very nice( and clean) and accurately depicted online. WE loved having our own private beach right outside the back door. It was great for hanging out and swimming with the dog. The only downside was the West End beach(which is closest public beach to this property) was not dog friendly, so we had to get in the car to go for a long walk. The streets were also flooded which could have been a big problem if we had not had a truck and SUV.

The house was exactly as listed and was perfect for our family. We felt very comfortable in the house and enjoyed many of the things the island has to offer. I highly recommend it!

This was our first time on Dauphin Island and we loved it! The uncrowded, laid back feel of the island was amazing. The food was great and easy for us to pick up at Skinners for dinners at the house. We were traveling with a 3yo and 4yo so it was nice to eat dinner and then play on the beach until sunset. The gulf was just across the street but we enjoyed the bay side more. The kids were able to play on the water without worry of waves. Will definitely be back!

The location is great, close enough to walk to the west end beach and right across the street from the Gulf. If you have any mobility/knee issues be aware the stairs are extremely steep!! The housecleaning could have been better. Some of the linens hadn't been washed (which we discovered the 2nd night, the first no one slept in that bed) including one of the bedrooms and the throw blankets in the living room and there was visible dirt along the edges in the bathroom. While these are little things that we were easily able to deal with, I feel the owner/manager isn't getting the service they are paying a cleaning service for. Overall, I would stay here again.

We had a great week!! This place is very roomy and clean and had everything we needed. We were in walking distance of the West beach and spent a lot of time there. We watched the dolphins one morning and went for a lot of walks. This is a great place to stay and we hope to come back some day!! Thank you so much for letting us stay.

Great vacation

Owners are wonderful! We have stayed here multiple times and will continue to do so. Home is perfectly located on the bay side within a couple minutes walk to the west end beach. Just across the street is access to the gulf. Hurricane Milton was coming in while we were there so every day was a red flag day on the gulf. PLEASE OBEY THE FLAGS!!! You can also now access the west end beach from the bay side which is nice!

This is truly a hidden gem and we cannot wait to come back! The bay side beach was oir absolute favorite - we had it to ourselves. Our pups had a blast and the outdoor shower was perfect for them. The place is wonderfully appointed - beach towels and toystowela
