Cute, dog-friendly cottage w/ views in Nye Beach - walk to shops & the park

The location is amazing! There is beach access two blocks from the property at Don & Ann Davis Park. You can walk to all the restaurants as well. The house itself is small and cozy. The view of the ocean from the kitchen window was a bonus. My only complaint would be the very loud traffic noise. If you are sound sensitive, the traffic noise in the living room and bedroom will be quite disturbing.

The ocean view was nice through the kitchen window! The kitchen was stocked very well! We enjoyed our stay very much, and recommended the home to friends that live in Oregon!

Loved the little house. Great location to Nye Beach shopping, dog park and actual beach. House well equiped and very clean. Would love to see a small fenced area for the dog. Also some storage for clothing in spare bedroom. Overall we would give it a9 star review and will definitely be back.

What a fabulous place! Clean, pretty, spacious, and very close to the beach. My only suggestions are that the current listing mentions off street parking, which is no longer accurate (no problem parking on the street though). Also the floor of the shower is a bit slippery so a non-skid mat would be good. We’re looking forward to staying here again!

Well located. Full amenities with washer, dryer and dishwasher. Comfortable bed. Very clean, well equipped and charming. Nice neighbors. Short walk to the beach and a nice view of the ocean from the kitchen window.

We contacted Vacasa about the lack of cleanliness in the rental and were told that they were sorry and that we needed to wait to be contacted by someone who could actually help resolve the issue (local management). This was two weeks ago and we've not been contacted, despite reaching out three times. We are extremely unhappy and disappointed in the customer service and the lack of clean flooring in the Crab Cottage. The laminate floor throughout was tacky and sticky to the point of being audible, as if someone had sprayed the floor down with a cleaning agent and then never bothered to wipe it up or wash it off. This could've also been caused by the incorrect ratio of cleaning products being used to mop the flooring (despite it visually being dirty as shown in multiple photos sent directly to the Vacasa representative who created a ticket for the complaint). As if that was not bad enough, the carpet flooring in the main bedroom was DAMP and clearly had a soapy/filmy residue throughout. The room smelled of animal urine, so its safe to assume the cleaners attempted to wash the carpet with a rug/cleaning machine but either used the wrong ratio of cleaner, or didn't follow it up with the plain water wash, to fully remove the dirt and cleaning solution. The smell of carpet cleaner solution mixed with dog urine transferred to every item that came in contact with the flooring, including but not limited to our feet, duffel bags, and socks. To say it was absolutely UNCOMFORTABLE to walk around in this rental would be an understatement. The dampness of the carpet didn't even dry out overnight, as the next morning it was equally as wet, which is why we believe the cleaning crew did not properly suck up the dirty water residue after applying the cleaning solution. We are extremely disappointed and disgusted that Vacasa thought that allowing our family to stay here was acceptable. We fully understand and acknowledge that not every guest is going to treat your rental well, and that there may occasionally need to be a deeper clean involved. Someone should have notified us that the carpet was nowhere near being dry (despite us showing up at the rental at 4:20pm, 20 minutes after the normal check-in time), and that the rest of the hard flooring needed to be cleaned, even if this ultimately meant that our reservation would be canceled. It was unfair to expect us to be happy and comfortable staying in the rental. It was a ridiculously unprofessional and unacceptable experience. We have never had a negative experience with short term rentals. The cherry on top? After communicating the issues with the rental to Vacasa, a local rep called us at 10:00pm, saying they were coming over to help us get into our unit, and then gave us the incorrect lock box code. They had the wrong address/rental/contact number, and ended up calling us at an unacceptable time of night, for no reason! We expect a partial or full refund at this point.

Great location! Need screens on windows, but it was a perfect little cottage for our get away! Quite a noisy street for those that may be light sleepers.

Couch & master bed need replaced. Front door has major seal issues. 2nd bedroom needs a real bed, not a cheap futon. better instructions for TV, pain in the ass to use.

We loved the amenities and the location… Great stormy weather…. We liked it better than in July!

The location is the best part of this place. Was great to be able to walk to Nye beach shops and the beach itself. The bedrooms were bigger than the pictures made it seem. Well stocked kitchen. The downside is the house could use some modern updates (ex new rugs that are clean) and it’d make a world of difference. Overall fine stay.

I loved how it was so close to everything and walking distance to most of the restaurants and shops. Also very dog friendly place Their info book was very helpful.

The property was very comfortable. However, the kitchen needs a new full set of dishes and some added silverware and sharp paring knives. I also agree with past renters, it can be very noisy (traffic noise) late at night and early morning; that, of course, is no fault of the owner. Just more of an FYI. We did enjoy our stay and it was very relaxing. Thank you!

This is a sweet little cottage in the heart of Nye beach. Plenty of restaurants, shopping and beach access within walking distance.

Very cute and has view of the beach. Upon going to bed I noticed a yellow stain one of the pillows. I changed pillows. The morning we left I removed all sheets and pillow cases and found all pillow themselves to be very yellow stains. They look like old drool spots. I got a response from VRBO that they will take of it. Another concerning safety issue was the threshold seal going in or out the front door. It was torn enough when you walk across it, your shoe can easily get caught and have you fall down cement stairs. All in all if these issues were taken care of, my husband and I would return.

Just a few blocks from Nye Beach, restaurants, bars. Quiet location, felt safe when walking home at night.
