Creekside Beech House

The property was close to our planned destination. Everything we needed was provided. Owner communicated very well, and was readily available to answer questions

very pleased with the cleanliness, the quick follow up from the owner and the location was perfect.Also the cabin is very comfortable.

The host was amazing. He was quick to respond wherever I messaged and was on top of any issues. Fireplace wouldn’t light and he sent someone out right away to fix. The deer were so amazing to feed and watch. Would definitely stay again. Only negative was internet wouldn’t connect so we were unable to watch any TV.

Easy going back and forth to ski slopes. Comfortable cozy house with everything you need. Kids loved the loft area and bed nooks. Deer were everywhere.

The kids loved the house! We saw loads of deer and stayed very warm despite almost 0 degree temperatures outside! Super close to the slopes which is super convenient after long days on the mountain.

I had a wonderful stay at this cabin in Beech Mountain. The place was clean, cozy, and perfectly located near beautiful views and family-friendly activities. The cabin had everything we needed, from a well-equipped kitchen to comfortable beds and a warm, relaxing atmosphere. The hosts were easy to communicate with and made the check-in process very simple. I highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway in the mountains.

Things were a little dusty, but we enjoyed the living space and well stocked kitchen. Watching the deer and the fireplace were both added benefits. Plenty of towels and early check in/late check out were much appreciated!

The good:  The house is very cute.   The neighborhood is quiet and is a good location.  The beds were firm but comfortable. The interior of the house appeared clean at first glance.  We didn't do much cooking, but the kitchen did have a lot of pots, pans and small appliances.  I appreciated the nightlights and bedroom fans (although they were very dusty).The not good:  As the previous reviewer mentioned, there was mold on both shower curtain liners (I replaced them with new ones).  The shower in the hallway bath was clogged (also took care of this).  The ceiling fan and bath exhaust fans were caked in HEAVY dust.  The mini-split heating/air was missing the cover and caked in dust.  The wall heaters were coated in heavy black dust, despite the warnings on them Fire Hazard - clean at least every 6 months.   The upstairs smoke detector was missing a battery, and it looked like the one in the hallway was as well.  3 of the 6 lightbulbs in the dining room were burned out and a light bulb was missing over the hall bath vanity.   The hand soap in the bathrooms appeared to be extremely watered-down liquid hand soap, and there was no hand soap in the kitchen (again, Dollar General to the rescue).  As other reviewers have noted, the living room furniture is not as pictured - and it's extremely broken down and uncomfortable.For awareness, you only see about half of the stairs in the pictures.   There are roughly 30 stairs from the parking area up to the house.  

Good. Accommodations were not exactly as depicted in photos.

This was such a treat for my little family. Located way up high in the mountains and deer everywhere. Super cozy and clean!!! Loved being able to have a fire for smores. Gary was super responsive. Quite a gem!!!

As described. Minutes to Beech Mtn ski resort and nearby restaurants. Very clean, and enjoyed our stay, it was very relaxing. Enjoyed using the fire pit every night and saw deer everyday.

We really enjoyed the house, the 1st floor bedrooms were lovely. There were a lot of outside steps, which can be seen in the pictures…grandma wore out!!!! The tiny stream was fun and fire pit was perfect!!

My family really enjoyed our stay at your cabin. The cabin was very clean and well laid out. Enjoyed the creek that runs through the back of the property and the nature that comes up saw a few deer. If you are looking for a nice relaxing vacation this is the cabin for you.

Great little house! Really pretty property in the perfect location for a trip to Beech Mountain or anywhere in the Banner Elk area. House is set up really well, with a “bunk area” in the loft in addition to the two really nice bedrooms. Will definitely be back!

Nice little home with plesent view. Plenty of amenities for a family to stay for weeks. Stayed for work on mountain. Was nice to come back to a quiet and relaxing environment. Would book again if more work brought me back out to the mountain.

Excellent value for the money. Beautiful scenery and an amazing mountain road to travel up and down along the way.

Had everything we needed and fun little things - gazebo, creek, and firepit. The bed nooks for the kids upstairs were perfect and well thought out with the mini fans. Plenty of hot, hot water. Garth was easy to communicate with and generous with our special request. We'll definitely be coming back.

Took a quick two day ski trip with my three oldest children – – had a wonderful time, this is a great property close to the mountain, cozy and clean. We hope to be back next year!

First let me say that I rely heavily on reviews when I book a VRBO for my family - I read them ALL; therefore, I always try to leave a very honest review for others so you have all the facts. That said, I booked this cabin because of all the 5 star reviews. But the reality of what we experienced was not 5 stars. The good: The cabin is in a very quiet neighborhood. It was covered in snow for our stay, but I’m sure it’s very pretty in other seasons. It had the essentials, hot water, and a warm gas fireplace. The location is close to the slopes if you’re going for skiing (but walking to them is unrealistic). The disappointing: The cabin was filthy. Both shower curtains had mold on them; there was hair in the showers, on the floors, and even on the sheets and pillow cases (thankfully I found some clean ones and changed the linens myself). There was thick dust on the bed frames and ceiling fans and the heater vents were caked in dust. The cabin smelled like food when we arrived and the dishwasher was packed with dishes.and just as an fyi, the living room furniture is not as pictured

It’s nice and cozy and the scenery is awesome. Love the creek running next to it and also love how close we were to Beech mountain! 10/10 would recommend

Lovely little spot. We stayed warm and cozy through some very cold and snowy weather. Garth promptly answered my questions before and during our stay. Excellent proximity to the ski resort. Would stay here again.

My son and I stayed for the weekend to go skiing at Beech Mountain. We had strong winds and snow for 18 hours. The house was cozy after a very cold day of skiing. We enjoyed the location and the snowy view.

Great location to the slopes. Took 5 minutes to get there, via car. Very cozy and comfortable!

We had an incredible two-night stay at this cozy property near the ski resort. The location couldn’t have been better—just a short drive to the slopes, making it super convenient for early morning runs. The property itself was warm, inviting, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.To top it off, it snowed during our visit, transforming the surroundings into a stunning winter wonderland. After a day on the mountain, it was so nice to come back, relax, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a perfect ski retreat. We’d definitely stay here again!

We booked this cabin as a trip with friends from out of town. The host was wonderful and the cabin was great! There was plenty of space for all 6 of us to sleep and hang out. The outside of the cabin was nice with a fire place and gazebo. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking at Beech Mountain!

Garth is the perfect host and represents a fantastic opportunity to get out in nature and unwind. The grounds are excellent. Wildlife is bountiful. The deer are calm which highlights the fact that people treat them well. If your body and mind are feeling burnt out. This is the answer.

The little creekside cabin was perfect for a weekend family getaway. It's cozy and had everything we needed. The host is fantastic! The only slight drawback was the proximity to the Beech Mountain Parkway (it backs up to the Parkway), but there was very little traffic and there is a steep incline to help keep kids away from the road. Overall, a wonderful place and I would highly recommend it.

Once you get to the top of the mountain it’s a peaceful get away from all the busyness in the world. Sit back and enjoy the wonderful sounds of nature and the fresh air on the huge deck. We even saw some deer. My husband actually got one to eat out of his hand. It’s a cute little cozy place to stay and only about an hour drive from the Bristol Nacar race track, the reason we stayed here. The country store down the road is so charming and has everything you need in one stop. Every time you look out your car window the views are just breath taking. We 4 had an awesome stay in the woods and enjoyed the views of the mountains. Just breathe taking!!!

We absolutely loved the cabin. It was even more beautiful in person than the pictures. Host was fabulous to work with. I had a few questions before booking and he went above and beyond. Highly recommend. If we ever go back to Beech Mountain North Carolina we will definitely stay in this cabin.

Our first time visiting the mountains and had a great stay at this adorable cabin. The host was very communicative and super flexible with check out. We were impressed by the amenities offered and the serene surroundings. Like other reviews, I can attest to the deer coming on the property! The kids loved seeing them up close. Fantastic stay and would love to stay again!

Beech Mountain is our favorite area to in Western NC to vacation, and this was the perfect place to call home base. The kitchen was well equipped. The location is on the backside of the mountain, but very close to Beech Mountain Resort. The creek offered a serene setting with the slow trickle of water. The house was clean, and the owner was a great communicator with an easy check in and check out process.

My husband, grandson and I had a great time. We enjoyed the firepit and the soothing sounds of the creek that runs through the property. The owner was very responsive to any and all questions. My grandson loved seeing all the deer on the property. Property was peaceful even with there being houses close by.

Such a quiet and relaxing getaway. Great location and everything we needed. Perfect weather and beautiful wildlife.

My husband & a friend & I rented Garth’s place to attend a couple shows at Beech Mountain. First of all, location is perfect. We walked to the shows, & it was very convenient. The house was the perfect size for us & had all of the amenities we needed. The outdoor seating areas were plentiful & everything is quiet & peaceful. We saw tons of deer including 4 fawns. They aren’t very apprehensive of people so they were a joy to watch. Garth was amazing to us. Very communicative and helpful with questions. We had a special request he was able to assist with, & I couldn’t be more grateful.
