Stayed Oct 29, 2025The location was great. The steps up to the bedrooms and bathroom are very narrow and hard to walk up. And the temp in the house was constantly changed back to 61 degrees

Stayed Aug 3, 2025We had a fantastic stay at this home in Gloucester. It really is a cozy little place in a good location. Easily walkable to the harbor and main areas with shops and restaurants however I will warn that the elevation changes can make walking somewhat of an exercise. The T station is a minute away so that makes it convenient to travel to other towns via the train, something we would highly recommend. I would go so far as to say if you want to visit Salem in October, stay here and take the train, it would be way easier. As a family it was nice to have a park and ice cream shop in short and easy walking distance as well. The steps to the second floor of the home are very steep and small as the description says, so just something to be mindful of but absolutely not a detractor at all. A great place to stay if you are visiting Gloucester and Cape Ann!

Stayed Jun 8, 2025My family and I had a wonderful few days staying at this Vrbo gem while enjoying a short vacation in the area. Gloucester is an adorable New England town—right on the water and super walkable. There are so many delicious food spots everywhere! Michael & Annie's home is within walking distance to the waterfront and several interesting historic sites, including a really cool old cemetery just up the street. The drive from Boston/Logan Airport took about an hour, which was pretty much what we expected. (Pro tip: keep an eye on traffic around Boston—it's no joke!) We also took a day trip to Salem, about 25 minutes away, and took in the sights, despite some on-and-off drizzle. The house itself is charming, spotless, and stocked with everything our family of three needed for a comfy stay. We loved hanging out in the backyard each evening, made good use of the full-sized washer and dryer, and slept soundly in the cozy beds.Honestly, the best part of our trip was the incredible hospitality of our hosts. Michael was so warm, welcoming, and easy to communicate with before, during, and even after our stay. We were able to check in a bit early—so helpful after an early flight—and check out a couple of hours late, which made things so much easier when heading back home. I really dislike hanging out in airports, so that extra time was much appreciated.Michael & Annie, thank you again for opening up your lovely home to us. We arrive as guests, but knew we were leaving as friends!

Stayed Oct 1, 2024This was a wonderful place to stay in Gloucester, MA. The host, Michael, was very attentive, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. Communication was prompt and efficient throughout our stay. The location is ideal, within walking distance to numerous restaurants, a grocery store, and the downtown area. We felt very safe exploring the neighborhood on foot. It's worth noting that the stairs leading to the bedrooms and bathroom are quite narrow and steep, which could be a consideration for some guests. Despite this, Michael was extremely responsive and accommodating, especially when we needed to depart early to secure our home ahead of an approaching hurricane. His support was greatly appreciated. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Gloucester.

Stayed Sep 23, 2024The property was nice and the location was ok. Beds were quite comfortable. However, the floors obviously hadn’t been mopped in quite a while. The second bath was nice, but was in the basement that was dirty & dank. Someone had started sweeping into a pile, but failed to pick it up. I think Michael needs to hire a better cleaning service.

Stayed Jul 19, 2024We had a good time in Michael's house! Sure, it is not new and some of the equipment is a little aged. However, we felt comfortable and enjoyed the surrounding as well. Good value for the money.

Stayed Jul 6, 2024We make many trips to Gloucester to visit family, and I think we have found our favorite place to stay. The house was charming, and had absolutely everything we needed. It is located on a quiet street. It was a warm week, and we so appreciated having air conditioning in the upstairs bedrooms, as you do not always have that in rentals in the area. The beach chairs, umbrella, and beach towels were also nice to have available. Only a five minute walk to the train station if you want to take a day trip to Boston, Salem or Rockport. Also very walkable to the Boulevard, Main Street for shopping, the harbor, or Stage Fort Park. The host Michael was very available, and checking in was very easy. We definitely recommend this property, and hope to stay here again!

Stayed Jun 1, 2024My fiancé and I came into town to attend a wedding at Hammond Castle Museum and stayed here with our friend who was also in the wedding. This place was super cute especially if you've got 4 or less people staying in it since there's only one bathroom - the kitchen/dining area was a good size and it had a large living area with a sectional couch and TV you could connect to. It was the perfect walking distance to tons of food, a grocery store, gas station and the main downtown strip that had lots of shops and restaurants! We felt super safe walking around the area regardless of whether it was day or night. The outside patio was a great addition as well, especially with the weather being so nice. The host was great as well - super responsive and accommodating and made sure we were happy with the entire experience, from check in to check out! The only thing to keep in mind is the extremely narrow and steep staircase you need to use to get to the bedrooms, which was difficult to go up and down with suitcases since you cannot fit your foot on each step facing forwards. A large/full sized mirror would've been nice to have as well while we were getting ready each day - but overall had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend to anybody coming into Gloucester!
