Stayed Aug 4, 2024I have stayed in Tawas City for work a few times. Being summer and the heart of tourist time, this house worked great for two of us. It felt like home to be able to cook and kick back with TV. Also great location for walking. I can see where it would work well also if you were in town as a tourist but don’t want the resort commotion.

Stayed Jul 3, 2022Yeah it is a basic beach rental with massive flaws. First of all what you can't see from the photos is the smell - like 40 years of pipe tobacco and old spice - it wasn't intolerable but it was unmistakable - next the 3 window AC units are insufficient - when closed the long curtains hang in front of the air conditioner and suck on to the front of it leaving one with the poor choice of having AC by leaving the curtains open sacrificing privacy and a ensuring a prompt dawn wakeup call from the morning sun's rays - bugs were flying in through the gaps in the window and started covering the ceiling so we actually turned the lights off and went to bed early so the lights in the room wouldn't attract more bugs. I took a star for the AC - and I took a star for the homemade double pane mirror mystery framed just to the left of the bed in the main bedroom - WHAT IS THAT?!! - even my 70 year old grandma without prompting said it's probably a double paned mirror hiding a video camera and you're gonna be on the internet - that thing is super creepy and you honestly need to remove it - 185 cleaning fee is absolutely ridiculous for the condition we left the house in - the bed was one of the least comfortable i have experienced in a rental - and even though the listing said smart tvS, there was only one in the living room - i honestly think i would have slept so much better with a tv in the room - I wouldn't rent from here again but if you NEED to be right in Tawas, the location is great and the house was pretty much clean if you don't open the mystery door near the ceiling in the main bedroom.
