Cute home, lots of charm with beautiful view.
Nice clean linens. Pretty setting. Paddle boat stolen so we never got to get out on the water. Disappointing. The camp across the way was very noisy with loud music and singing with microphone. Would have preferred if they went inside. Nice owners.
We are yearly renters on Lake Hayden. This year was our 12th year. We stay over 2 weeks and are very familiar with the lake and how other rentals and host work. We found this rental to be lacking in many areas. The location is actually perfect and right across from the sand bar. Unfortunately the access to the dock would definitely be a issue for any young children, elders, or people with difficulty walking. Not because of distance but because of the erosion and poor upkeep and stairs crumbling and buckling. Mice were a huge issue and got into all our food and grossly could be heard running across drop ceiling in downstairs bedrooms while sleeping and the kids who slept upstairs got scared listening to them chew through food in kitchen nightly. It was a big problem and all food dishes had to be washed before every use because we constantly found feces on them and on bathroom counters and floors. We had many issues with plumbing and although host tried fixing it once and did give us a 10% refund it is definitely a problem that needs to be tended to for future guest or just plan on only using one bathroom after paying for 2. We rented this cabin for 15 days and there was only propane for 2 nights on the BBQ. When asked for more the host agreed and then took over 5 days to come and get tank. By that time we had already filled it because we had a family to feed. Sadly we were disappointed by many things but still love Lake Hayden and it’s beauty...just not this cabin or host
This prime location is quiet, scenic and just the right size for a quiet family vacation. My wife and I look forward to staying at this property again!!!
Bedrooms are very small. you can’t walk on either side of beds. Otherwise we had a good time.
First, the positives: my family (with 4 kids under 12) had a great time playing in the water and fishing right from the dock. We played on the beach all day every day and loved it. The kids had no complaints whatsoever. When we arrived, there were 10-20 boats right in front of the property blaring music and partying. Apparently, everybody comes to the sandbar right in front of this property to hang out. In addition, right across from the property is a resort. They had some sort of camp there with buses constantly coming and going. The groups could be heard singing/playing music well into the night. As soon as we walked into the cabin, it rank of cigarettes. We immediately opened every window in the house, which did fix the issue. The house does have a decently long staircase down to the water. The stairs themselves were in need of repair. The old staircase could be seen in the lake below - looked like the hill caved in. The new stairs were uneven and not nearly as nice. One guest (65+) was not able to easily get to the beach/dock area, which was disappointing. The beach pictures in the ad must have been taken when the lake level was very low water. It was smaller than pictured. The dock needs additional flotation. Small waves regularly washed over the dock. Fishing from the dock while it was windy was more like wading. The fridge made a loud, weird knocking noise. Dishes were not clean when we arrived - lipstick on glasses in the cupboards, etc.
We had a great time celebrating my GF's birthday at this beautiful little cabin on the lake. It was comfortable and in a great location. The dock made it easy for us to use our paddleboards on the lake and go out to the sandbar. Great weekend!
This cabin was perfect for my small family. The views were beautiful. I can't wait to go back!
Beautiful property and great management
Great views from main level and deck. Being right on the lack with your own dock is great. The kids loved it.
Great family vacation spot! Enjoyed our stay, would stay again!
