Stayed Aug 22, 2025This house feels like a home. It has everything needed to be able to cook easily. Coffee and tea were even provided. There are good restaurants nearby. The house is in a great location for exploring Mount Rainier National Park. Especially the south side. The owner responded quickly when we couldn’t find a light switch.

Stayed Jul 6, 2025Property was cute, cozy, had a lot of amenities. We used the cabin as our base camp to hike and explore Mount Rainier National Park. Wish 4.5 stars was an option. The only down sides were:-no regular coffee pot (had a Keurig and did provide coffee, just not my cup of tea so to speak). -Must take shoes off on carpet and can't eat or drink out side of the kitchen/dining area. Not an issue for us but something to consider if you have wild kids. Thankfully ours are at an age where it wasn't a problem at all and we DID really enjoy the cleanliness of the place which is likely partially due to not having food and drink everywhere. -They have family portraits in the cabin. We loved the family orientation but it was kinda odd looking at other people's families. Definitely NOT a deal breaker. The upsides (there are a ton):-It's quiet.-Packwood is a very short drive away and there is public access to the Cowlitz River between the property and the town making for an easy fun cool off spot. -It had plenty of spices and kitchen cooking amenities.-It was very nice to have a washer and dryer. -They property is very clean. -They had a fire pit that was to Lewis County burn restriction code so we could have a fire even though restrictions are in place. -They had DVDs and fun things for kids to play with. -They dinning room table is HUGE and made for a great place for our family dinners. -Grill worked great. -There ar plenty of fans to help cool the cabin off.

Stayed Jun 20, 2025Our family of 6 had a wonderful stay at the Packwood Cabin! We spent Fri-Sun nights for a long weekend in Mt. Rainier NP. It was a quick drive to the Stevens Canyon Entrance, and the cabin was a wonderful retreat after busy days in the park. We saw a pair of elk grazing outside the front window on our last morning, and walks around the neighborhood, including a lovely local trail a ways up the mountain behind the cabin, were a treat. If you're in town, don't miss Packwood Brewing--great beer, food, live music, and an airstream serving excellent ice cream by the outdoor seating area. The hosts were terrific and helped us quickly address a couple small issues that arose. We'd definitely stay here again if we're back in the area in the future! Highly recommended.

Stayed Mar 20, 2025This property was amazing. It appeared to have new updates. Very clean, warm for the winter season, and comfortable for relaxing. The shower on the first floor was similar to a massage! Water pressure was awesome. My husband and I utilized the downstairs only but there were other rooms available. Everything we needed for cooking meals at the cabin were available. Communication with the owner was great. No issues during our stay. We stayed 3 nights and will definitely seek out this property again.

Stayed Jul 7, 2024We stayed here for two nights while exploring Mt. Rainier. It was a convenient location for both the Sunrise and Paradise areas of the park (and helped us avoid the crowds of the Nisqually entrance). The house itself is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with amenities like a pool, playground, and par-3 golf course within short walking distance. The interior of the house is invitingly laid out, remarkably clean, and well stocked. It feels like a real home…we really appreciated that. The region was in the middle of a severe heat wave while we were there (100+ for most of the day) and this house (like almost all others in the area) does not have air conditioning. The host provided tower fans to make things more manageable. Overall, we found the house to be a perfect place to base camp out of for a few nights. We would stay here again.

Stayed Jun 23, 2024Not only was the location so easy to go to Mt. Ranier and explore the area, but the house was perfect for our family. So clean and well stocked. The beds were comfy, the table was big enough for games and dinner and mapping out our plans, and the shower pressure made me happy. I can’t wait to come back again one day!
