Stayed Apr 4, 2026The overall cleanliness was good, the space was sufficient. However, this place needs some TLC. The cabinet door was hanging off, my husband fixed it. The kitchen is not stocked well at all. The pots are all nonstick with so many scratches - very toxic. So we used the 1 stainless steel pans to cook everything. There is minimal utensils and plates. 3 cereal bowls for 4 people and 3 dinner plates. Kind of upsetting when you’re paying 400/night. There were no filters for the coffee pot so we had to run out and get those. I just think a little TLC and a trip to Homegoods could make the guests feel more at home and appreciated. The house is not waterfront. There is a house in front of it and you have to walk through that years to get down to the steep stairs to the water. The dock wasn’t attached yet, which was understandable for our April stay, but definitely no place to really relax in front of the water.

Stayed Mar 12, 2026Comfortable, beautiful, easy! Comfortable bed, very clean. Easy to find. Most of the pans in the kitchen are scratched Teflon, which is dangerous (PFAS), so I hope they replace them with something nontoxic. Overall though, great, would stay again!

Stayed Oct 9, 2025Rooms were clean and ready for use. Some areas of the cottage could use an extra sweeping for cobwebs. Overall, super cozy, clean, and wonderful location. Thank you for offering this cottage on VRBO.

Stayed May 20, 2025Listing gave me the impression this was waterfront property. It is not. Miscommunication as to arrival date and dirty linen in bedroom for the first day. Too many garbage cans out front.

Stayed Dec 28, 2024We spent a week at the cottage during winter months and it was still lovely. It’s a short walk to the lake and short drive to the town. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable just what we needed for a winter escape/getaway.

Stayed Nov 27, 2024Our group of 4 enjoyed ourselves over a long weekend in November. What we liked: - Location. Close drive to town! - Large living room and kitchen/dining area - Kitchen appliances (dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, pots and pans, etc.) - Washer and dryer - Spacious bedrooms What could be better: - We didn't have any hot water in the upstairs sinks (the shower was fine but water pressure was inconsistent) - Overall cleanliness

Stayed Oct 14, 2024We loved our stay here. Our family is from Skaneateles and the property is close to where my Mom grew up on the Collard Road. The property was clean and had all the bells and whistles necessary. The fireplace made the stay cozy. It made a perfect home base for our cemetery hopping to see the ancestors!

Stayed Oct 23, 2024The cottage is a bit nicer than the photos. Large tiled open area on first floor. The living room has plenty of seating. Kitchen well supplied. Nice size first floor bedroom and huge upper bedroom, with king bed, and a wide hallway with a twin bed. It is across a private lane and down to your own private dock. Beautiful location 5 miles outside of town. We brought an extension cord and power strip which came in handy.
