The house is definitely in need of quite a bit of TLC. The kitchen drawers & cabinets were crooked and very dirty. The single bathroom is tiny and not conducive to multiple people staying at once. The first floor is covered in old brown carpet that should be torn out. Everything was coated with white paint in an attempt to make it look updated. Neighborhood was a tad concerning, as a woman if we didn't have three men in the house i don't know that I'd have felt safe here with just me and my other female friend. The theater room in the basement has a screen but no projector of any sort so that was unusable. The heat did work great and the beds were comfortable for our one night stay.
Neighborhood is lovely and was convenient to other places we wanted to go, but the house was a big disappointment. There were greasy stains on the sheets and blankets. There was a thick layer of dust on the light fixtures in the bathroom. There are stained rugs all over the house attempting to cover old, stained carpet. In one bedroom, the rug is so curled on the corner that it won't lay under the door. EVERY time someone entered that room, they tripped on the rug stuck under the door. There were pieces of trash in the back yard grass. One bottle of soap, so we had to move it back and forth between kitchen sink and bathroom. Really intensely fragranced air fresheners plugged in to cover the smell of....? Way overpriced for poor quality, dust, and lots of tripping. We felt robbed.
The property was spacious and the neighborhood was nice. But inside was of a different nature. In my estimation the property was not ready to be rented. It still needed some work. One of the two bathrooms was not available, the one working bathroom was not the greatest, wrong toilet seat, peeling window film, etc. The only bright spot I can mention is that the owner did have someone come to take care of some of the issues that we had with the property.
Plug in air fresheners. Location worked well for family visit. Carpet throughout except kitchen and bath. Dining table big enough for 7. Big TV in living room.
We had a pleasant stay for the holidays at this quaint home in Cleveland Heights!
Everything was perfect
