Our family enjoyed our stay at your cabin. We wouldve loved to have stayed longer!
Everything from the booking process, communications for questions, and checking in/out of the house was great! Our family, and dogs really enjoyed our stay. The large yard, Watauga river, the swings, and fire pit nights were all just fantastic and exactly what we needed. 10/10 would recommend if the size fits your needs. Such a great home in a fantastic location!
All we can say is wow, river is right in the back yard. We all had a nice quiet relaxing, fishing, cooking, sight-seeing weekend and it felt like home. Thank you!
We had a nice, relaxing weekend at the River House! We hiked, visited Boone, Grandfather Mountain & Linville Caverns. The river was very peaceful and we enjoyed walls on the road too.
The positive is the location is really cool. The negatives overpower the property however. The main issue is that the furniture throughout the inside and outside of the home are very worn and uncomfortable. Not to be rude but absolutely everything inside and outside seem to have come from a thrift store decades ago. We love the area and had a great time but this place needs some real attention and was not filthy but was not clean either. This is the first negative review we have ever left for any property but based on the all the high reviews, we were expecting more and just want to leave an honest and constructive review for others.
Overall this was a great trip to the mountains. Pros: Big property on the river to enjoy, close to Boone and ski resorts, communication was great and they even allowed us to book an extra day, spotless fridge, new washer and dryer and great deck, tv had plenty to choose from and lots of board games in tv cabinet. Cons not many but I feel it’s fair to list, everything appeared to be very clean but the floors could use a good cleaning and just need to dust the cobwebs in the corners of the rooms. Bathroom does need a little TLC but it worked for us, and the towels did have a musty smell (I’m assuming this is all at no fault to the owners but more just cleaning crew). There are also sheets left in the dryer that were probably from the previous renters (better that they were clean rather than dirty)! Would stay again!
What a perfect location! The house was clean, warm, and stocked with all the necessities. This house will always have meaning to me, as it's where my boyfriend asked me to marry him!
We had not been to the mountains during peak fall in years and this property offered it in its best. From the breathtaking views on the drive down the gravel path to the large backyard going down to the river where the beautiful trees of every fall color were adorning each side. There was plenty of room for the boys to throw the football, the girls to play, and our pup run his zoomies out and chase leaves, while me and my husband watched from the large porch. A short drive to the two Mast Generals, Harvest Farm corn maze , and other activities in the area. We truly had a wonderful time and stay at the River House.
This house was exactly what we were looking for, secluded, yet close to downtown Boone. We’re looking forward to a Spring weekend getaway.
Husband and I stayed for a long weekend getaway with our adult son, teenage son, and two dogs. The driveway is easily accessible by car. The property is immaculate and communication with the host was fantastic. All of the amenities were provided and we felt right at home. The yard is not fenced, but the wrap around porch has a gate so it was nice to be able to sit outside with the doggos off leash while we sipped our coffee. The dogs and kids enjoyed splashing in the river. We walked our dogs along the gravel roadway daily, and the views along the river are stunning. We saw tons of deer on every walk!!! We can’t wait to plan our next trip.
We love this property! Great spot to enjoy the cool river water and spend a relaxing week.
